Many are saying this will be RWD in know it's not an RS but RRRRRR

So you can guess my vote!
Nice poll Choleric!

RWD RS. Honestly, most of will never be able to extract the full potential out of these cars on track, whether it be AWD or RWD, but we can how ever powerslide late at night or early morning on weekends when no one is around or do burnouts in vacant parking lots. So for those reasons alone, I'd take a RWD car.

On second thaught I think they should not change the RS either. Thing is, AWD is what distinguishes the RS from the AMG and M and makes it special. But again, if one of the brands should lose its soul I would go for the RS... since, in my opinion, that would make the RS much closer to the M than to the AMG and if we are talking A4, 3-series and C-class I like M the most.

RS should remain AWD.
There are many M and AMG owners on the road that think they are unbeatable. Truth is when a road start to turn , you be better of in AWD car. Its easier to handle AWD than a RWD car. Even your granny will manage a AWD car.
With that said, Im not saying a AWD is more fun than RWD car to drive but it's an easy way to help you improve your driving skills. Also I want BMW to remain RWD, afterall its sportiest setup.

Yeah they all need to stay as they are. I have a feeling though AMG and M are going ot offer at least optional AWD at some point. BMW's sporty AWD system would be a great fit on most levels, but then the RWD purity of an M car would be lost. Mercedes' 4Matic system is for mud plugging and snow drifts not for the track.

M

RWD RS, clearly.
If I had to buy such a car, I would learn to powerdrift and play on track sometimes, so undoubtedly I would take a RWD. It's more fun I think.

However, AWD is faster and easier, and it is the way Audi differentiates itself from M and AMG, I think there is a need for AWD super-poweful cars. It makes a lot of fun too, to drive very fast with minimum risk that your car begins to spin. The way it goes out of the corner like a missile is a fabulous feeling too.

I think RS is fine as AWD, and would loose its point as RWD. Quattro is Audi's trademark, on regular cars like on S and RS, it's part of their philosophy.

Interesting poll Choleric but also altogether heretical. :) Some sacred things should just be left as they are!

In my mind, M and RWD (as well as RS and AWD) are mutually inclusive. The whole reason that they're better this way is because they're so different from each other. When viewed as a whole, both concepts are worth more that merely the sum of their parts.

It's the same as asking which would you prefer? Roger Federer with a double-handed backhand or Rafael Nadal with a single backhander? Neither of course.

RWD RS won't happen. Even if it does it would be a bitch to handle.

Imagine the engine between the headlights and a rwd, which would be a first for Audi. Wouldn't it?

RS should remain AWD.

Well said.

RS cars will remain AWD but M cars will have to switch to AWD in the coming years due to new safety laws and power increase.
