Discuss What if Toyota’s Hydrogen engine succeeds?

@KiwiRob, 2 years ago we had a bet, if Toyota can sell 30k Mirais or not in 2021. Here is the screen grab and link to the posts.

Well, 2021 is over now and Toyota published its detailed results yesterday. You can find it here - https://global.toyota/en/company/profile/production-sales-figures/. In 2021, Toyota sold a grand total of 5918 FCEVs globally. Which of course is far less than 30k.

I will pass on my winnings, but feel free to donate it to Humane Society or another similar charity.

done.

Does hydrogen actually solve anything?

Increases in atmospheric water vapor also amplify the global water cycle. They contribute to making wet regions wetter and dry regions drier. The more water vapor that air contains, the more energy it holds. This energy fuels intense storms, particularly over land. This results in more extreme weather events.

Will it succeed? Only future will tell. But as long governments keep funding Toyota to develop hydrogen powered cars, Toyota will be like this meme:

They might be on a role, Yamaha is a master at engine building so I wouldn't be surprised of the Hydrogen powered combustion engines could become game changers.
