even though, i don't share the same opinion with JC all the times, for me, his articles are very fun to read. And most of them refer to some incidents that happend to him, rather to the car he is reviewing.

BTW, i do think that Jetta is a boring car, especially when it comes to the interior. It's only a matter of taste...

Straight from a VW fan, I do find the new Passat and Jetta very uneventful indeed.

Arghh...people it's a VW.
If it's boring than it's quite normal.
Really, are it's competitors thrilling sensations ?!

"an automotive Belgium" ??

hey, we're not boring   we let terrorist escape just for fun :t-roses: :t-roses: bring on the party :eusa_danc :eusa_danc

Everytime you see Top Gear testing the Passat or the Jetta you will get a picture of JC sleeping at the door sill. :D

Not the Phaeton though. It's one of his favourite cars.

When those words come from someone who bought a Ford GT one day and he decided to sell it the next one, then they mean absolutely nothing.:D

LOL Is the Jetta really boring ?

I say no its selling well in Australia and its a nice change form the boring BMW 318i/320i :D

Not exactly an awful car, but crucially not the most exciting around. The problem with the Jetta is the same with the Bora, the Vento, the older Jetta and with all saloon versions of the Golf, Astra, Focus and even the Civic. Compact saloons don't sell well in the UK and they end-up reguarded as boring, forgettable cars with horrible resale value. I fear the Jetta will be the same business as usual - overshadowed by the Golf and forgotten by VW. It's a damn shame really. Because I could see the Jetta as a fine Q car. I mean, the US Spec Jetta has a 2.5 5 Cylinder 20 Valve engine based on the 5.0 V10 40 Valve of the Gallardo, and it sounds very nice when modded; listen to it:

The only thing that really disappoints me, is that VW managed to squeeze only 150 Bhp of this engine. I'm sorry, but that is just absolutely pathetic. A normally aspirated 2.5 20 Valve 5 Cylinder engine could easily output 200 Bhp.

I'm going to read the article later, but I always thought these were pretty nice:

And the current Jetta is far from boring IMO, styling wise. Have not driven it, but I am pretty sure it is more exciting to drive than....oh....a COROLLA. :D
