Have never seen this before, and I am not sure what it is. All the 7-series on this closed parking lot (where you aren't supposed to be) had this.

Note that it is NOT a sticker or anything like this. It's coming out of the actual mirrorcase, and it looked quite advanced:

These are protocol / security vehicles with LEDs instead of "rotating lights".
Usually new BMW protocol models have LEDs behind the kidney grille bars as well.

what!

what you are talking about !?

BMW offer also includes specially equipped vehicles for state, diplomatic, security, authority, escort, protocol etc purposes.

Eg. police vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, security service vehicles, diplomatic / state protocol veicles etc.

And those 7ers are most likely diplomatic / state protocol vehicles - with LEDs incorporated in side mirrors (and usually also behind bars in kidney grille) which usally blink in blue color (or red if required, and have the same function as rotating / blinking blue lights on such vehicles.

:t-cheers:

Oh so these, are bullet proof and all that!

I was thinking they were indicators or something like that!

Not necessarily.

More likely standard 7ers with few extra features (eg. blinking LEDs, extra communication equippent, etc).
