Meaning: cheap, affordable, nonfunctional, funky-looking retro car with bike-like internal combustion petrol engine.

Right signal: pricey, premium, functional & modern car with clean & efficient powertrain (N-ZE or ZE).


So, between the lines Mr. Reithofer said:

the car would have 4 wheels
the car would be either electric or fuel-cell driven
the car would not be cheap, nonfunctional & retro (but premium, functional & modern)
