The E39 is a very lovely car, wonderfully styled. I remembered when the E39 was released i was looking at photos of it for days, reading and re-reading the brochure for no apparent reason. I liked the interior design very much, and having sat inside my friends 2003 blue 525i (E39) I can say the interior fit and finish, and the material quality is very high the current E60 cannot match it at all.

If I were to have to buy a M5 right now from any generation I would buy a interlegos blue E39 M5. Sure the new M5 is the better newer faster car but i dont care i just want an E39

I have a facelifted 530d Touring (with Celis LED, etc) in the family. While it still looks very good inside out, the driving dinamics are somewhat dated anno 2007. The E60 is much, much better. And lighter I believe.

Very true, my friend... I used to own 1998 523iA with 170hp, manual. That was a fun to drive... Even more than my current 535d... I guess that was mainly due to manual...

Yep this particular 5-Series was far more dominant in comparos than the current one, only losing one contest in U.S. mags over its run if I remember correctly.

its just a shame E39 is a popular pizzaracer in Sweden, many of them are modified with spoilers and wings and looks like crap.
