OUCH ... AMG makes it look EZ ha? This sucks BIG TIME ... the pathetic looking rear.
May look better in other colors but this rear? :eusa_doh:

Official? Why UK license plates? No Munich plates?

Because it's receiving it's public debut at a UK event. Not sure if it's Goodwood or some Golf event. But it's in the UK. Also, the UK has a pretty high uptake of the 5 Series and even more so with the M Sport package.

But there will be some pics along shortly which are the official brochure pics with Munich plates.

What's it with M packs these days?

I'm completely un-satisfied (sp?) with this one. It looked great in the leaked photos, but now it looks very overdesigned in the front and out of place in the rear. The front bumper is very busy, while the standard one has only a few, clear and elegant lines. This has countless. In the rear there is too much grey plastic that is not needed. It could have a few more lines, but not so much plastic.

I may change my opinion again, when I see it in real life, but until then, I'm not a fan...

I used to love M sports packs before, but this is just average. It's not that bad. It's ok. But I can't help but feel a little smug now driving an AMG pack fitted E. :D

LOL. :D

Hmm, well, I like the rear as it's a big improvement in leaning out the bulbous OG's rear, I like the chrome badge on the sides, the interior looks outstanding, and the front sucks. They are waay overcompensating with the front bumper, the OG's is mellow, and this one is overdesigned, way too angular for the car, and doesn't flow with the cars smooth lines at all.

Overall, critical thinking aside, still a great looking car, but I'm still happy with my purchase so far.

Oh, and those rims are weak!!

Well, E60 M-Sportpackages looked much better then this one. They were/are much better integrated and fitted perfect to the car. This F10 M-package reminds me of the one of the E39. Loved the standard configuration and the M-front but BMW messed up the rear completely - especially with the strange looking exhaust!

How it should look like - or halfway at least (and why not use this type of rims)!

and for better comparison in white:

Haha I loved the one big single exhaust on E39 and the black diffuser thing - made it sportier imo. But I agree E60 wheels were much better than the ones on F10.

The M-Sport pack - unlike the treatment done by Alpina - doesn't quite gel with the elegant silhouette of the F10. Some of the details jar. The biggest problem I have is that bumpers look more like they belong on a 3er than a 5er. That big black faux diffuser is 335i M-Sport pack fare - inappropriate for a 5 series imo. The logic behind the relocation of the reflectors is just odd.

Frankly, you'd better off with the standard F10 in a nice colour combined with some sexy BMW catalogue rims.

I say that my M package on E60 looks better, but this isn't bad at all. Rims only suck, but everything else is just fine afaic.

:t-cheers:

Definitely nothing wrong with M package (except rims).(y)

The 7er M pack looked very ugly to me when I first saw it, but now I think it's stunning. Same will happen with the M pack on the 5er.

The back bumper doesn't look good in that pic, but it's one or two pics only, and they're far from real press pics. I am confident it will look great in real life and in better pics. That pic above posted by Tyc looks very good already. The front bumper and interior are fantastic from the beginning to me, no complaints there.

And of course all the BMW haters are swarming in again to tell the world how horrible it looks. Some things are really never going to change, it's the same old bunch of people again...
And I REALLY have this feeling that because one or two vocals here keep saying they don't like the rims, suddenly everybody has to say they don't like them, to fit in with the group. Maaaan.

Frankly, I think you couldn't be more wrong. The Alpina looks riced and aftermarket.

But whatever floats your boat I guess. M Pack for me all the way. And in a month or two, you will agree. That's the funny part ;) :p

^ I hope you're not lumping me with your "same old group of BMW haters", klier. We're all entitled to our opinions - hate has nothing to do with it on my part. For the record, I'm not even a fan of the add-on M kit on 3ers, Xs, and so forth. If it's not a proper M then leave it the frak alone in my personal opinion. My floated boat is a simple one...

So, to make my personally subjective view on the matter clear, I would never waste my money on an M body kit - I quite prefer the more reserved standard looks of BMW's many cars that I do, truthfully appreciate. Sure, there are exceptions to my own rule such as the 135i - gotta have that with a sport kit - but for the most part there are the M cars and they're to look like M cars for good reason.

Oh, and I really like those wheels, classic split-5-spoke design - a long time favourite of mine.

Anyhoo, I'm off to the R8 V8 Spyder thread - where I'm sure you'll give me a abject lesson on how to hate in a proper manner. ;)

Hi Martin - AFAIK, the 135i only comes with a sportpack, but if you are comparing the "standard" 1-Series Coupe with the "Sportspack", then I will have to agree.

My R 0.02 - I think that the F10 looks fantastic in real-life and I am sure that this sport-packet will be more of the same. The wheels are pretty KAK though, the 19-inch optional ones look identical to the 19-inch option wheels on the Z4 sDrive35is (on which they also look pretty awful). The standard 18-inchers look puny, much like the ones on my wifes boggo exclusive pack 320d.

In fact, apart from the option wheels on the facelift X5 and X1, BMW wheel design department has been off the boil lately, I just pray that the new F10 M5 rectifies this.

Jislaaik Dylan, your out of the blue post was such a surprise that I thought the site was going to crash! ;)
Yeah, you're right, I was referring to the 1 Series coupe in general but took a mental shortcut to 135i.

I can't say that I've been all that put off by BMW's wheel designs of late. I think they're getting better on average actually. Some of the late '90s and early '00s standard fitment wheel designs were hideous.

Which Z4 35iS wheels are you referring to?
