F1 Update On The McLaren Mercedes F1 Team

It does not matter because you don't know how the other teams would have managed. They weer doing other stuff. This is not a race, nor like a track race because it is not a race. F1 teams don't have to give a 100% because that's not needed since it's still testing. That's why breaking a track record as a given doesn't say shit. Because you do not know how the other cars have been driven, tested or how they're settings were. Even more when they weren't even on the track.

sheesj, you guys are thick :eusa_doh:

lol man you are the thick one

it doesent matter what kind of day the other teams MAY have had if they where out there..
a record is a record.. broken in qualification tests.. heat 1 heat 5.. or a race.. doesent matter..

PS
Your point would be valid if they took the record for just that day.. then it would be retarded.. cause the others warent in there..
but afaik this was like a record overall.. best lap time ever.. then the others participation doesent matter at all..

gotta agree there. It was an overall record.

Well no, because it's not like this is the only testtrack is it. And laptimes get broken every year, that's the natural way in F1, since the cars improve faster than the regulation wants them. and even then, you still don't know if the other teams were going all the way. A team like ferrari rarely shows toptimes or fulltrothle action during testing. They do that in private

January launch for new-look McLaren team
16 October 2006

McLaren have announced that their 2007 team presentation will take place early next year at the Spanish circuit of Valencia.

The three-day event should provide a first glimpse of the successor to this season’s MP4-21 car, as well the team’s 2007 livery, which may well see a move away from McLaren’s familiar silver, in line with new title sponsors, Vodafone.

McLaren’s full 2007 driver line-up should also be present. The team have yet to confirm who will race alongside Fernando Alonso next season, but an announcement on this is expected by the end of December.

McLaren’s Valencia presentation takes place from Sunday, January 14 to Tuesday, January 16, with the length and location of the event suggesting it is likely to include at least some shakedown testing.

The team say further details of the event will follow in due course.

Would be awsome to go to a presentation like that. I'm very curious on the driver line up.
