well then you can be happy.. to hell with the tv channels:D

again, none of the true competition on the track, rather meaningless

er he broke the lap record....previously set by himself....why does he need competition? fastest lap on that track of the winter...

speed never was the real issue. Overheating when it's minus 5 degrees celsius outside was

which test session was -5? slight over exaggeration may be?

But five more F1 seasons like this is hard to stand;)
I'll just have to live at my moms those days.

when none of the other competition are active at that moment, breaking a record doesn't say much

Hmmm...BAR and Williams are not competition? I must have a funny concept of competition then.

not really, formula1.info reported an overheating of the Mclaren with Kimi at the wheel arround the 26th of january

not really, Davids isn't really at the same level as Kimi and Williams? That's just a good laugh

still williams are competition....
surely though kimi does not need to be compared to the competition if he already holds the lap record....all this about renault being so good, what lap records do they have this winter...and what is the point in the competition to compare them to....they are all doing different things, some were just doing fast laps, some full races, some tyre testing so what is the use of comparing their times....the fastest time on that track all winter means something i think...

Test driver or not the time Mclaren put up is encouraging. The best time any of the V8 cars clocked in on that particular track thus far. And judging by the number of laps Kimi put in it looks like he was on a race simulation.

It's not too long until the first race, so only then will we know who is truly competitive.

the report said below freezingpoint. Wether it's -1 or -5 does it really matter? I think the main issue is how do you overheat your car in weather like that.

I don't see Williams as competition. I believe Frank Williams, as brilliant he may have been, has lost his grip of reality. Williams won't be a problem this season.
problem woth all this testing is that everybody is doing something different, so just numbers on their own don't say shit. I'm much more interested in reliabilty reports, because there the competition doesn't matter. But to be honest, ferrari also does have some issues lately. Nothing the new aero-package won't fix though
It'll be interesting, that's for sure

***....you now don't see williams as competition...look at your post the page before
"Davids isn't really at the same level as Kimi and Williams?"

er....

and as for the problem of every one testing different things...yes! well done that was my point! that why is did not matter that there were not many other people testing yesterday (although you said their was no competition yesterday and the time meant nothing....)....***.....

It doesn't really matter what the temperature is outside, these engines run so damn hot that they can easily overheat when it's freezing outside. F1 cars can't even sit stationary with their engines on for long periods of time because they'll overheat even at idle.

if you would have read my reply properly, you would have noticed the " that's just a good laugh" that refers to Williams :eusa_doh:

exactly, but it does matter wether or not many people are testing. You can't say Mclaren is on a roll when none of the real competition is arround for compairison.

2."You can't say Mclaren is on a roll when none of the real competition is arround for compairison."

***....IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT COMPETITION WERE THERE THEY BROKE THE LAP RECORD
