DEFINITELY a new entry for my make-believe dream garage:

Alfa-Romeo-Totem-GTe-05.webp

A bit hesitant regarding the electrification, but hot damn, this looks, as the kids say, "sexy AF."

I should add that an Alfaholics GTA-R 290 is most definitely in my dream garage.

I've noticed your 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 entry.

I quite like old Cadillacs' myself. Especially this one:

The 1949 Cadillac Series 61 Club Coupe Sedanette. It remains so elegant to this very day.

Looking forward to finally leaving the omnipresent, immensely distressing current event behind us, I'm entertaining myself with the assembly of a new imaginary ultimate garage. What shall I select ??? This is what I've got so far:

Audi eTron GT (in some sort of dark, glossy metallic green, saddle interior, 22" bicolor rims).

Porsche 992 GT3 Touring Package (Chalk, red interior, satin silver rims).

That new Alfa-Romeo Giulia GTe Restomod by Totem (color yet undecided, maybe red ?).

Land Rover Defender 90 (base-as-ace, matte-satin grey paint, steelies.)

I'll keep the current collection of classic Porsches.

looking at the above list makes me embarrassed to think how impossibly impossible such a thing would be...

Better start saving up... Look after the cents, and the Rand look after themselves!

If it's any consolation, the Google sheet containing my ultimate garage is a couple of hundred lines, and I'm not done yet (takes time to check if the colour combo's I want for the classic Alpinas were actually produced or not!)

Being the fan of late 1940s' through 1960s' American cars, perhaps I should expand my ultimate garage to include a few of them. Possible candidates-along with the 1949 Cadillac Series 61 Club Coupe Sedanette...?:

1956 Lincoln Continental MK II:

1956 Ford Thunderbird:

The Rand is so f#cked and the economic outlook is so bleak I'm going to have to sell the cars we have. :(

Blimey. I was just going to crack a joke about it being up against the Dong (or something), but you're not wrong, I can't find anything the ZAR isn't trending downwards against :(

It is a dream garage. Money being no object, anything is possible, even to OEM standards. BMW M3 CRT Touring E91? Go for it!

I've got a couple of after-market vehicles on my list, but I'm trying to keep it pretty real. Even if I did have the funds, I much prefer the idea of having things as original as possible.. that's just the way I roll. Plus, half the fun's in the research!

See a car like this was one American luxury car makers were at the top of their game and could compete with anyone. The design is amazing. Lincoln is nothing today by comparison. My goodness look at that.

M

This car was certainly one of the VERY best automobiles that money could buy ANYWHERE in its' day. Genuinely manufactured to a standard with cost being no issue. FoMoCo lost a considerable amount of money on every example produced. But the effect on Lincolns' (and FoMoCos', for that matter) brand equity was immense. 64 years old-and still absolutely stunning.

"Realistically":
BMW 530d
Land Rover New Defender
Porsche 982 GTS 4.0

Unrealistically:
Porsche 911 Turbo S
Mercedes Benz G350d
Porsche Panamera GTS

Porsches' new 992 Carrera 4s Targa simply knocks me out. An example exactly like the promotional vehicle in that dark grey (or is that black) metallic with red leather would be simply PUUURFECT.

With most recent prototype sightings having hit the media, it has become relatively easy to envision the production Audi eTron GT. One in Verdant Green metallic with a cinnamon hued interior and 21" or 22" brushed satin-silver/anthracite bicolor rims could conceivably be my absolute dream sedoupe.

I find myself fancying an early 1960s' Porsche 356B 1600 Super cabriolet lately. Wearing its' patina with dignity. 75 PS is enough. In that medium Irish Green with black leather. A fun runabout for those sunny and dry days. And simple enough to allow someone like me with novice (at best) mechanical skills to tinker around with.
