4) 599 GTO
5) G500 W464

I am tempted to jettison whatever's in #7 for an E9 3.0 CS. If I could add a Vanquish Volante, I would.

You should put one oldtimer for flavor

New cars:

1.) Porsche Taycan Turbo S-Aventurine Green with a tan-toned interior, 21" Panamera-style bicolor rims.

2.) Porsche 992 Carrera 4 coupe-Macedemia metallic with tan leather.

3.) Pininfarina Battista (one cannot do without a hypercar...or ?...) in silver metallic

4.) Land Rover Defender 90-matte grey with those white steel rims. Keepin' it rugged and simple.

Vintage cars:

1.)1960 VW 1200 "Bug" Cabriolet in red with black top
2.)1963 Porsche 356B/C (2000GS) Carrera 2 coupe. dark blue with black leather.
3.)1973 Porsche Carrera 2.7 RS (Touring Package) in Jägermeister Orange
4.)1993 Porsche 964 Carrera 30 Year Aniversary Edition coupe in that signature violet metallic.

Merc1, the Macca GT at number 3 is a bold choice.

With my 10-car list, change out the B5 for the new B3 (in Alpina Green and Cognac interior). I think I would indeed switch out the Maybach for the E9, though I would be disappointed giving up a Merc limo. Perhaps, a Grosser 600 is in order, though I am no despot unless I haven't had my cup of coffee. I do wish I could fit the new Boxster RS on the list.

In fact the only car that one needs is the Tesla Model 3. It is fast, roomy enough, efficient, ecofriendly, has enough range and is affordable. If only it was produced by Daimler or BMW.

I'm looking very forward to the new VW I.D.3 and its' SEAT & Skoda derivatives. Should they compare favorably to the Tesla Model 3 in terms of value-for-price here in Germany (and being retired, I don't really require mega-range abilities), they could be a very interesting "keepin' it real" BEV "single car" proposition.

As much as I enjoy participating in "dream garage" or "ultimate garage" threads, I'm not Jay Leno...or Jerry Seinfeld...or Ralph Lauren...or Shmee. At the end of the day, it's a bit of a form of masturbation.

No way they could compare favorably to the Model 3. Tesla is using new type of elmotors that are 10 years ahead of the ones in VAGs cars including the Taycan. VAG are using Hybrid Permanent Magnet Synchronous motors that have neodym permanent magnet rotor and a stator with rotating magnetic field. This engines are heavy and expensive and are already outdated. Tesla Model 3 and from recently also the model S are using Permanent magnet switched reluctance motor, which is not using induction and so very little heat is generated. The rotor is made of cheap ferosteel, can not be overheated(otherwise the main problem of the induction a synchronous motors) and very little permanent magnets are used in the stator only to reinforce the electrical magnets of the stator. That's why the Tesla S with two such motors in the back has no overheating issues and is smashing the Taycan motorwise. The issue with this type of motors is the magnetic field that becomes very strong with the increase of power and only several years ago the highest power was 40-50 kW. Obviously Tesla has managed to overcome this problem and create a 190 kW motor.

Informative read.

The Tesla Model 3s' price is a bit steep here in Germany. I haven't seen any new cars available for anything under approx. 47K Euros-and high performance/high range configurations going at prices around 65K+ Euros. A decently spec'd I.D.3 at approx. 37K- Euros (should that at all be possible) could be an interesting proposition. While the Tesla may soundly trump the I.D.3 in terms of BEV technology, it is a factor of secondary importance to many potential customers. They are "buying a price", "perceived solid build quality" and "dense service network" (although the latter will be of diminishing importance in the BEV age) within the parameters of a brand that they have been familar with for many years. It's no secret that German manufacturers will need to fast-track in order to navigate the steep learning curve in terms of technology. But to the majority of buyers (less discerning, far less automobile affine than we are), that's an issue of subordinate significance. Just look how well VWs' original "Käfer" and other air-cooled, flat 4 models did for so many years. And that in the face of Italian, French and British competitors that offered far more advanced, and in some cases better automobiles.

My top ten list:

1) 2014 Porsche 918
2) 1987 Ferrari F40
3) 1994 McLaren F1
4) 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
5) 1974 Lancia Stratos
6) 1985 BMW M5 E28
7) 2019 Mercedes AMG E63 S
8) 2002 Mercedes SL55 AMG R230
9) 2004 BMW M3 CSL E46
10) 2019 Bentley Flying Spur

If I have to chose 10 cars for my garage I would go in more practical way based on value alone and chose to have 10 pcs of the same car:
10xFerrari 250 GTO

1/2BILLION $ worth LOL and you would own 10/36 produced.
