Anyone watch the season premiere? As someone who was unable to watch an entire episode last season, I must say it was good. There's good chemistry between Reid, Harris, and LeBlanc. Cinematography has also improved, though a notch below GT.

It's nice that there are now two good car shows for enthusiasts to choose from; or watch both (Fifth Gear is unfortunately defunct).

Honestly, I don't like Harris in this application. I think I've said it before, but I think he works well on his own, but comes across as a bit rude and uncomfortable a lot of the time. LeBlanc is okay, when he is genuine I think he's actually really good... but sadly most of the time he's still delivering the lines the way he has done for the last 20 years. Reid is annoying, likable at the same time oddly. I think chemistry will come, but it's got to develop naturally - if the producers and writers try and force the guys into playing specific characters (i.e. Clarkson, May and the short one) then I think it might be unwatchable.

Some of the format changes, moving to a sportier car for the celebs, breaking down the celeb bit to smaller chunks I like. But, I can't shake the idea that whilst the format of the show remains so similar to the Clarkson years, comparisons will be made and new TG is always likely to struggle because of how good it was 6-10 years ago.

As for the actual content of this first episode, Harris doing what Harris does in the FXX-K was good. Given the scale of the Kazakhstan road trip, it didn't feel particularly epic, but it was okay.. to be honest, at this stage... not being painful to watch puts it ahead of the competition, though I still look forward to the days when we start to see something as good as we had in the late '00's.

A bit like Chris Harris on Cars with more money. I agree, Harris works better alone, and this road-trips are just there to invoke the nostalgia of the past trio and their epic road-trips.

Really solid episode. I like the way they differentiated themselves from the old formula. the new studio is so amazing. The chemistry between the trio is really good aswell. The scripting has been improved from the last season too.

Some minor gripes, the celebrity part should be done in one go. It just felt awkward and cringy when the celeb was sitting there in silence or sometimes striking with one liners. Do both the interview and show the lap in one go.

A lot of cringe moments , but I think it will grow on me. Might be better than GT it doesn't end abruptly!

I haven't seen any of the new top gear episodes since the original trio left. I however have seen every episode of Grand Tour on Amazon prime. Some episodes were pretty bad in my opinion, while i couldn't stop laughing in others. I'd say about half of the car guys I know hate it and the other half love it. I'll keep an eye out for top gear as i just got access to BBC america with Sling TV.

The 2nd episide was a yawn fest , something is missing hopefully they'll find it before the season ends.

NB. Didn't like that they used the Non-Competition M3 against the Alfa QV. They really wanted the QV to be faster.

It was indeed a bit "yawny", but again a solid episode and far, far better than the 2nd episode of S1 GT.
I also agree with the way M3 vs QV comparison was done. Harris drove a different M3 on the Extra Gear, wonder if that had Competition Package?

The way Celeb part is done will probably stay for the rest of the season, which is disappointing. The Lambo vs Porsche part had a lot of potential, but there were no stakes or funny moments worth of notice. Though some of that was shown on the Extra Gear.

I`d say they should focus more on their main films and less on Celebs.

Also, I wish they would bring back News segment, even though the news may be outdated it is still interesting to get an opinion from the hosts on new cars.

They should also leave out the part where Chris Harris coaches the celebrities around the track it's awful, wonder if its the intent of the show for him to be that rude or his just rude.

The potential is there, but something is not geling at this point the standard has dropped from ep1.

Seen the first 3 episodes, and I think it's much better than the last season with the ginger carnival barker and recent couple of seasons with HamMayClarkson.

Things I didn't like....
-Alfa and wall thing...such a collosal waste of time.
-Harris bully-coaching celebs because I know it's supposed to be done for comedic effect but it's so amateur.
-speaking of celeb interviews, it's better especially the interview with Tasmin ___ (sorry, not too familiar with Brit celebs), but the transition to the actual track footage is odd. I didn't find the interview with Tennant all that "cringey" as it's been said.
- Golf Clubsport S lapping the N'ring with Sabine was annoying.
- The LaFer FXXK feature should have been longer.
- I still wish Harris was more technical with his voice-over, but this is TG so of course they go more mainstream
- I actually like LeBlanc's obsession with construction equipment but it's done with such a lack of finesse. There's great potential to mine this for good comedic effect, but I don't think the writers know what to do.

Sabine in the Golf segment was pretty hideous. I really like Sabine, and I think it's fair to say that if you put her in any of the cars they overtook, she'd be quicker... Rory was just annoying.

Though I am still not feeling it with the new format (despite having improved from Season 1), surely looking forward to this

Watched the first 3 episodes. Considerably better than the previous season.
Yeah - I agree. I actually haven't enjoyed Top Gear us much as this in ages and I can see how it appeals to a much smaller audience than before because it's lost its comedy show side.
There are some attempts at humour and some of them work, some of them fail dismally but - and here's the key thing for a petrolhead - there's much more about cars and much less larking about with boats and trains and rockets and stuff. The Clubsport S insert with Sabine and Rory was shite - mainly because of Sabine carrying on like a daft bat. Nevertheless the Clubsport S itself was interesting to watch. It's a very cool Golf - albeit ridiculously expensive down here in SA.

I chuckled at Joey and Monkey messing about in two lovely upper-end GTs and the Giulia skit was nice. All in all it's more about the cars and less about messing around and I prefer it that way.
I hope to see Harris being more of himself as he's actually better that way rather than this over-exuberant "actor".

I think I'm happy to say that S24E5 is the best episode of TG in several years. The team are working well together, even with Eddie Jordan.. nice to see Sabine again.. stunning visuals, no predictable larking around, and Sir Chris Hoy, who's a genuinely impressive individual...

.. the only thing that bugs me is Rory walking like he's got a bit of gravel in his shoe. #BadBoyLimp
