^Do you not know that its tradition to post the worst picture of the competition while posting the best of Benz?

It is a must!

Why? A mod doesn't decide what cars a person puts in his poll.

The 7er looks quite old next to the S class.

Well it's all relative. If you find the most boring photo you can of the facelift 7er..and comparing it against a car fitted with a sports package, it's bound to look dated.

That said, the new S with that sports package looks absolutely stunning! It looks like the successor to the Maybach 57S!

Only one winner here, the S class owns this segment. Has there ever been a more one sided poll on GCF?

If I were basing it on looks my vote would go to the XJ but I guess this is a poll for the best car overall and that is probably the S-class so it gets my vote.

Ile just leave this here

I agree on every point here.
I seriously think the 7er is the better looking car, when you look at those two pics you posted. A white one for me please!

The 7er in the sport-pack looks a bit more sportier. The S on the other hand looks like the King of heaven luxury.

If I was in the market for Ultimate Luxury and if I could choose what I like and I want:

A Bentley Mulsanne, thank you.;)

For what I really want is a Sports Saloon, therefore the BMW 7 Series takes my vote AND if the Panamera Turbo was included I'd have that instead. Hope the next BMW 7er is more Panamera and MUCH LESS S-class than ever before. Oh sorry! That goes for the Audi A8 also, VAG has Bentley, Go even MORE SPORTY on the next A8:cool:

There is enough Rolls-Royces (BMW), Bentleys (VAG) and S-classes to toy with....

Give me what I want. I want a Luxury Sport Saloon, thank ya!(y)

ok, OK! 6ER, M6 GRAN COUPE. Thats final, for now.

Human, how do you justify picking the 7 as a 'sports saloon' when the vast majority of reviews say the standard A8 is a tidier handler and the AMG S's have it beat comprehensively?

The 7 is big bloated pig and has been soundly beat in the dynamics department by the A8 and XJ more than once.

When my family sat in a 7 at a car show, they all prefer the older W221 at the Merc stand. They all said if BMW, just buy the 5 next to the 7 which they couldn't tell which is which when sitting in the driver seat.

mercedes is the best car. i like the interior and exterior. but In my eyes it have some touch of audi (central console angel), Rolls-Royce (vents) and bmw (display in shape of smartphone just bigger).

Thanks for asking my friend(y)

For starters this is a HUGE problem @SCOTT27 and his management has to overcome and rectify. So it's time BMW makes a strategic, sound and purposeful decision, listen to the logic and see they have Rolls-Royce Motorcars. As with MINI they can milk the brand, adding additional products to the Rolls-Royce portfolio and keeping up with the "W222-type" onslaught.

Secondly, they have to start listening to what BMW customers need and expect from the brand - image - that THEY, BMW build and indoctrinated us, the customers with for DECADES! Hope you are still reading Scott and go show this e-mail to Reithofer, we are the customer. And my Regards to him and the board...maybe copy this and forward it to Stephan Quandt also.;)

This is how a BMW 7 Series, Luxury, Sport Saloon has to look like. You @ BMW gave yourselves the 'hint' now produce. Please and thank you VERY much! 7 vs S-class vs Rolls-Royce vs Bentley is BS absolute and utter BS!
Panny, Jag, Maserati, A8 etc is the target market, get it!?

lol at any of these cars being sporty..

Only exception is the Panamera.

Its like being a 200kg man and having aspirations of being a ballerina..

Its a lost cause..haha

not sporty, not even closely, but it can be a drivers car, the car that you are looking to drive, not to be driven in

and those pictures of 7er and S shows how it should be - merc uber luxury and bmw driver oriented and ergonomic, too bad these characteristics of 7er doesnt translate on the road

CRFP, extensive use of aluminum and CS-type forward thinking in design from BMW AG. They have the skill, ability and revenue to make the next BMW 7 Series a true Panny competitor. And apart from BMW's ability and know how to start with their own 6er GC, CS Concept and cars like the outrageously beautiful Aston Rapide is a good starting point, add a little more practicality and space = a perfect BMW 7er for the next generation!;)

My point stays, BMW owns the Rolls-Royce Brand. They have the epitome of luxury at their disposal to develop as they see fit with the Rolls-Royce brand. Just make the BMW 7 Series the car it was, is suppose to be and get it done ASAP.

@HighestOfHigh so as not to condone your bias, please note I do NOT support your use of an AMG Sports pack equipped S-Class.

Well I have updated the photos. I was trying to do too many things at once.

They have the skill, ability and revenue to make the next BMW 7 Series a true Panny competitor.

Why does it need to be? Personally I think the 7 series is fine the way it is. They don't need to be Porsche or anyone else IMO. Why should they change directions now?
