Giulia The Giulia QV appreciation thread

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a compact executive car produced by Alfa Romeo. Known internally as the Type 952, it was unveiled in June 2015, with market launch scheduled for February 2016, and it is the first saloon offered by Alfa Romeo after the production of the 159 ended in 2011.
AWD vs. RWD is the reason why I would never get the Stelvio over the Giulia and why Audi has become completely unattractive for me personally.

Fast Audis have always been AWD, there's never been a fast Audi with FWD (limited production RWD R8's are the only exception but not relevant to this discussion).

Yes, you're right. Miscommunication. I meant that as a personal note. When I was younger I drove slower and was also not as skilled so I didn't care about AWD vs. RWD - Audi was interesting to me. Nowadays, I don't care about straight line acceleration and would rather have fun while going slower. I guess I'm getting older but younger? haha

AWD is now much more relevant than it was 10 years ago. Many cars now produce immense torque at such low RPM that their power is unusable. Even an M140i will spin its wheels on cold or wet surfaces if you apply more than 20% throttle from stand still.

The E63 and M5 offer the best of both worlds as you can choose between RWD and rear biased AWD depending on driving conditions.

Stelvio QV not an option?

I took a look at one a few weeks ago. I liked it. But at nearly $90k, I would rather pay a little more and hold out and wait a year for a lightly used M5 Competition. I am in no rush right now to replace my E63 S. But the Alfa Giulia Q.V. was extremely impressive with its handling, relatively light wait and surprising power and sound.

Alfa Romeo will be able to use the Ferrari twin-turbo V6 beyond 2025 when the new Euro 7 emissions standard comes into effect.

The confirmation was made by the CEO of the Italian brand, Jean-Philippe Imparato, in statements to Autocar.

When asked whether this engine, which is used in the Quadrifoglio variants of the Giulia and Stelvio, has a future, Imparato was clear in saying, "The answer is yes because I expect the result of the Euro 7 (proposal) this year."
