So, doing a little investigation into Baur Karosserie recently, I came across two prototypes I'm not familiar with. Most Bimmer fans are aware of the mainstream Baur models, but these caught my eye...
Firstly, where the E30 2 door model was generally speaking, a 2 door saloon, not a coupe, Baur Karosserie and Autohaus-Kohl built what they considered to be a genuine coupe. 4 of these were built apparently... pretty they are not, interesting they are...
These photos are from e30zone.net... I'd seen one of these pictures years ago, but disregarded it as a bad photoshop...
But there do appear to be more photos out there now...
The other model that caught my eye... a Baur E30 M3 cabriolet. The E30 M3 convertible is already a fairly rare beast, this looks to be a one off... again found via e30zone...
While there are other aftermarket "M3" re-bodied Baur's out there, that's the only example I can find of the existence of a legit E30 M3 Baur conversion.
For fun, I'll also throw in this...
4 door TC2 based on the E30. Perhaps lesser known than the weird E36 TC3 Landaulet.
I love these oddities.
