Movies Star Wars Episodes I-IX general thread

Trailer is up.

Looks like it has a Western-in-Space aesthetic to it even more so than the original Star Wars. Looks like it could be a fun ride.
Further evidence the character posters.

Looking good. Don't know if I'm sold on Alden Ehrenreich yet though.

edit: Full trailer also..

Finally watched the latest Star Wars movie. As always it is visually spectacular, which is good because there are some serious issues with the plot, some of it is simply very..very strange. Overall I did enjoy the movie more than I thought I would.

You don't find the turtle chasing another turtle for hours and hours weird ? Space turtles. Which can bend space and time by warping. But they do not have boost for overtaking. It was the first time I felt Star Trek is superior! In Trek, they would tractor beam that shit easily as they can even teleport into another ship in warp speed! But in Wars, they still fight with laser swords with which Robin is always playing with and it's driving me bat crazy

SOLO: A Star Wars story.

Whilst I was watching it, I was thinking 8/10... buuuuutt, when it finished it hadn't had the effect on me I'd hoped... so maybe 7.5/10.

My thoughts and rating exactly. It fizzled out a bit toward the end.

I thought the finale lacked suspense, it kinda worked when you see what Qira was actually dealing with behind he scenes, and how it had to end.. it should have been a great couple of scenes but it didn't click, though the fan service element of that holotransmission was much appreciated.

Han speaking Wookiee made me laugh out loud.

I heard about the cameo. And before anybody says how?
They need to watch The Clone Wars series and Rebels ( although I expect Rebels comes after Solo?)

Ja, that was indeed a surprise but heck - chopped in half is chopped in half! ;)

Solo falls about 5-10 years before Rebels I believe.

I would say about the same for the score. The film has its moments.
Donald Glovers portrayal of Lando was spot on and that I hate you overlooking the once-pristine Millenium Falcon now looking like the ship we all grew up with. Not forgetting the charred ruins of a custom-made cape.

Looking at its overall performance... This is Star Wars and how is Star Wars failing at the box office? Star Wars is meant to be like Tungsten.
It is not fatigue as some are saying. Could be the endless cringeing SJW feminist droid scenes and accompanying commentary that is killing its box office?

Star Wars is getting killed because of the length, and importance of it's fandom. There's lots of reasons why Solo might have underperformed at the box office, some are legitimate, some aren't... the bigger problem is that it's not really possible to have a meaningful discussion about it because of the social media vomit-fest surround Star Wars these days.

L3 is a Catalyst... what ALOT of people are missing, is that she was a Parody of the SJW droid character people are picking up on... she was over the top, and effectively died because of it... of course the f#cktard boycotting KK hating "true fans" are too busy sucking on their own shit infused bile to realise that.

Star Wars is getting killed because

Because of Disney.

Sucks ALMOST as much as Disney owned Marvel. Such utter trash. Only nice superhero Marvel series is X men, but ironically because it's not from the Marvel studios :ROFLMAO::dead::dead:

Disney has really taken the fun out of a lot of these movies, dare I say it, it has become a bit too family friendly.

I never thought of it like that. Reverse psychology. Good analogy there.
