Movies Star Wars Episodes I-IX general thread

"Maybe it's just because I find Adam Driver to be one of the Sequel Trilogies biggest wins"

Absolutely. I'm a huge fan of the actor as well as the character.

I didn't hate the movie. I actually quite enjoyed it. Just felt it was a missed opportunity to make a really great movie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi. The dream team between the other series are not involved but with official news explains that Kathleen Kennedy threw out scripts for being too bleak does not give a new hope for Star Wars.

Of course the situation would be bleak and devoid of hope in the present. But with the leaks on interference on Boba Fett (Space Vespas) and known agendas seem to confirmed by the leaks. But not very creative as the redemption arc for a corrupted character has been played out.

Of course then there is the reunion of Obi Wan and Anakin now as Darth Vader which will be the shows draw. Will they continue to ruin Vader as they did by undoing his redemption by not actually “killing” the Emperor?
As there’s nothing like Nostalgia to distract from inaccuracy and actual creativity.

This is just what SW is today. Besides the nostalgia part, there is no new ideas at all. One only has to give a look to Episodes 7-9 to realise there are barely a couple of new designs, with most of them being simply the original movies ones.

What SW needs is some kind of Episode I effect. This is, being able to create something entirely new that still feels like SW and moves the narrative away from the Skywalkers, profecies, stormtroopers and X-Wing vs TIE Fighters.

Since I believe that won't happen, I will try to enjoy what comes based on the great characters of the saga, the ones that Lucas left behind.

Vader's redemption wasn't about killing the Emperor, it was about saving Luke, which he did. He chose his son instead of the Emperor, that was Luke's victory, as well as Anakins. The fact that he also effectively did kill the Emperor (as what more could he do at that point), also shouldn't be handwaved away.

Bits of the High Republic era have been excellent, but since it's so far only in books and comics, it's getting overlooked by a lot of people, and it has been a bit tough to follow.

Just my opinion. I think Star wars is getting lost in the comic book movie era and should maybe take a back seat for now.

We need MOOARRR Star Wars content to counter the onslaught of comic book films!

It’s the eve of Kenobi and interest is not apparently high.
If you have read the spoilers and leaks which confirm another bait and switch to what was official Star Wars cannon.

In the form of avoiding creative bankruptcy. There are fans out there creating their own content using programmes like Blender to build impressive realistic effects that come close to ILM to signify there own Star Wars Story.

I am at Episode II.
In Revenge Of The Sith. He knows Anakin is Darth Vader in a conversation with Yoda. When they watch it on a hologram... Does it get better?

The reveal to Kenobi isn't that Anakin is Vader, it's that he's still alive. He left him for dead on Mustafar and goes to live in a cave on Tattooine for 10 years, clearly unaware that Anakin actually survived and unaware of Darth Vader in any other capacity than knowing his name and true identity.

The bigger unanswered question so far is how the Third Sister knows Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker, and that's likely to play out before the end of the series.

As for whether it gets better... if you're out to find fault with Star Wars because you don't like Disney, you will find more not to like.

What about the Grand Inquisitor? Have they retconned Rebels?

They won't have retconned Rebels to that degree. Whether we see what happens between 'now' and 'then', in Kenobi who knows... but at this point, just because you saw the Third Sister stab him in the gut, I wouldn't assume he's dead. Pau'an's have two stomachs after all ;)

Glad that played out... it's good to pay attention.

I am up and down on the Kenobi series though. It's had so much great stuff, but there's something 'low budget' about the way it's shot and edited. I also think they're cutting a few corners with how they're delivering the story, I think they needed to take more time to set the scene correctly. With streaming, you don't have to worry about ad-breaks, or padding for a time slot... There's been times when taking a bit more time to set up a scene would have added a lot.

On the plus side, if you were buying it by the gram, it does contain some of the purest [live action] Star Wars since the OT.

Star Wars Fan Films have come a long way.
I am beginning to understand Hollywood’s AI concerns. Especially when the new Star Wars films are being made have no hope.

The new Star Wars show The Acolyte has dropped its trailer and it looks like amateur cosplay fan-fiction.
Given the interference its creative bankrupt creators are spilling after its Star Wars fan backlash. Proves this is going to be the perfect representation of the “Put some chicks in it and make them all lame and Gay!”
Whilst this will probably be mediocre. The next season of South Park will be epic!

"Star Wars saved my life" - Leslye Headland

So for that , she will continue destroying it , and whatever is left of it...

How the f**k is this person even remotely relevant when she was the personal assistant of Weinstein?

Hollywood f**ked Kevin Spacey for it's allegedly sexual assaults , but accept the personal assistant from the most notorious and proved rapist in the history of Hollywood?

Damn.... I guess man are truly finished in the SW IP
