X5 [Spyshots] Next generation BMW X5 (3rd gen) 2015?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
How do you come to the conclusion that it will grow in size to become more of a GL competitor when there is nothing in the picture to reference it to? For all we know it could be the size of a baby shoe. :D
:lol
Since the X3 has grown in size I am sure X5 will grow even if its just 10mm :). The proportions in the pic look wide. The hoffmeister kink is also X3 like.

Somehow Scott has not commented yet. Wonder why..

If the title hadn't told me this was the next X5 I wouldn't have known. Where as the normal ranges show more variation between present and future model the SUVs seem to change little.

Autobild.de has this week cover with the F40 X5!!!, it looks like a mix between the X3 and the Vision Connected Drive Concept. The problem is that I can´t download the cover as the link is from the past week cover.

Dammmm I want to seeeee!!!

^
That blue one, cut off at the bottom. Damn! I am all exited and yet it's still such a loooooong time to wait the F40 is years away:t-banghea

Here you´ve got it:

SCOTT, what is exactly your pic? A leaked sketch?.

Honestly, both CGIs look like disasters compared to the current X5...

Hey, I´m I the only one who suspects the new X5M engine will be based on the new 50d tri-turbo diesel?.

Yea I love the current X5, but I guess they want to make it more dramatic as far as it's appearence. I would have preferred them use the new 5 as a starting point in terms of design.

Oh well...Those photos don't look too bad.

2013 translates into what month next year? Is that an April 2012 debut or October 2012?

He is busy. The actual X5 can have 7 places (optional).

Really!
You sacrifice so much for the mediocre 7 seater.
Terrible for long distance trips, you also lose the spare tyre when you select the third row option.
With an expanding family size I am actually considering GL in the next 2 years because BMW has nothing to offer in the form of an SUV.

The wrap around headlights and sharp corner kidney grills are very sporty. Looks like 21" wheels. Is this pic of an X5M?

Yes the new X5 gets very Sporty looking , mixes every function and flexibility with sporting pretentions.
And yes their will be a new X5M.

It's a big beast, but the more dynamic styling and proportions really decrease the size of the car.

They should try the inverted kidney grille design with the next generation of X-family vehicles!

Here's an example, but of course for the X-family the grille would be taller and not as wide.

the X5 series has (since its introduction) always been the start to show off the next steps for a new design language
i expect it to be a lot cleaner then the CGI proposals (adding lines to a design won't increase its beauty). so probably its the first bmw to have a layered design (see connected drive concept)
