X5 [Spyshots] Next generation BMW X5 (3rd gen) 2015?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
Each model line is now inheriting "characteristics" from that particular family for example the 5er GT although there is no carry over bar minimal areas such as door handles and mirrors from the 5er , you do see the bloodline of the 5er within the GT even though they are seperate concepts. The 3er GT will offer something similar no complete carry over from the sedan concept but the bloodline is familiar.

Take the X vehicles for example and apart from the current X5 you see the design details such as more flowing characterlines , surface sculpture and kicked-up glasshouse's.

The new X5 will feature some of these design features to broaden the design of the X family so that even though they are not just one vehicle in each size, they each share the same characteristics.
The T-shape rear lights first identified with the X3 and carried over to the second generation F25, forms part of the new X family identity as the X5 showcases these in a new interpretation on the X5 but still keeping the X identity.

X5 also brings to production the stylish BMW kidney grille with it's raised diamond like shape at the inner edges , because it is an X5 the kidney grille will be wider, larger and more imposing than before.
The characterline which swoops diagnonally down to the wheel arches is more layered on the surface it's three-dimensional form actually taking shape when it gets towards the front section of the car.

T-Shape rearlights follow the layered idea as shown on the Vision Connected Drive Concept , the dont completely wrap around the entire rear section but adds more depth to the surfaces.
The key idea with the new X5 is that although it is larger, the exceptional work on the surface and the front and rear are designed to actually shrink the car's appearance it is when you see from a short distance that the proportions actually make the car smaller.

Anyway now it is time for a Sunday drive.
One artist I always have playing in my car is Ewan Dobson , a finger-guitar player who mixes up all styles of music on a guitar.
His eccentricity is part of his genius :D

Or for something clompletely different, Jesus take the wii.

Then again Tuts my Barreh....

So we won't get a straight body waist line anymore? something that BMW had since the beginning?:t-banghea

Yes F40 was X4.

AutoMotor Und Sport.de have published a render of the forthcoming X5.
Nothing really special as it's origins are really based on X3 photographs. New X5 is not actually an enlarged X3 but actually brings new ideas in regards to the appearance aswell as interpreting some X family Characteristics.

They better bring something revolutionary to the table this time..the existing X5 is like a facelift of the first one..

2 generations from the same design lingo is enough..its freakin 12 years of our lifes!!!!

The ML is a much evolutionary design, and it´s the third time MB sticks the very same design and proportions. It hasn´t to be a bad thing if the base is good.

^that's why i didn't like the first or the 2nd ML..this time around they differentiated abit.. vertical tail lights.. and some character lines on the side of the car..
So its better this time around..

But its still nothing AMAZING!!

Nor has the X5 ever been in my eyes..

Generally i just hate SUV´s..

^^ If you want anything driver oriented you better not be looking for a Mercedes SUV. BMW or Porsche I would say.

Haha, it's the same with the ML, it's in the third generation of the same design. Only difference is that the X5 is getting prettier and prettier, and the ML uglier and uglier :)
Also, vertical tail lights on the new ML??? WHOA! Stop the presses, major revolution!!

Joking aside, I guess the SUV people just don't like change that much. ML, Cayenne, Touareg, X5....they all look like a more modern version of the car they replace..

Hopeless you 2.. its like your 2 rabies sick dogs guarding the doors of bmw hq.. attack with no sense..
