It's definitely NOT an S-class/CL convertible. Way too small.

Is it even a RWD-platform car? The front overhang looks more like a 'MFA' platform car(A-class family). The new W205 C-class's front overhang is much shorter.

Way too small to be an S-Class convertible. Proportions are off for RWD luxo-barge cabrio. This is probably the "CLA" cabrio.

Definitely not an A-Class platform car. It's RWD and the size of an E-Class :)

Edit: After looking at the pictures again... I'm not so sure... hmmm

It's the CL Cabrio. I already see the design cues. Dropping shoulder line, the rearlights are the ones leaked a few weeks ago (the ones that resembled the E60 5er ones), the front is a mix between the SL front end and the ome of the 125! Concept (frontlights). I predict a more beautiful car than the current CL.

I really hope it's not a CL, those proportions are terrible for what you'd expect/what it should be. It looks similar to the previous gen 6-Series to me.

it it is a 6-Series competitor, good luck as the proportions just don't come close.

Well, the current CL is huge, and there is no mistaking that it shares a platform with an S when parked side by side. If this is the CL cabrio, then it does not share a platform with an S-class.

If the shots were made from large distance, the proportions between this cabrio and the S-class nearby will be distorted, but not the proportions between the cabrio and the driver inside. Just look at the driver in this picture:

either he's really huge, or this car is not an S cabrio. Also, overall proportions are way off for a big upscale car. I bet this is a future E-class cabrio, on the E-class platform, maybe replacing the current E-branded C :)

Look like the rear lights are splitted on the rear bonnet, just like on this future E-class render, but on the other hand, W213 will be presented at least after 4 years...
Maybe MB wants to create something special like folding hardtop and they already started to test it?

it may be a convertible or a masked coupe. Either way it is a two door car. There was not in the past some info on a new car in the MB lineup. So it could be only a S, E or C. If it is a masked coupe, the car will not be a C class, because it is pillarless and I do not expect a C coupe to be without the B pillar. But the last picture (with the S class) makes the car look quite very small, it looks almost like an optical illusion. Still more to confuse us the type of exhaust on the car has been until now reserved only for the higher models north of the C. And if it would be a C than it would be quite different from the sedan that is now being tested and we can compare it. Moreover it resembles the BMW 6, at least from profile. I really do not know what to make of it. If it was not for the last picture I would say it is the new CL/S coupe or cabrio, only because it is time we saw some spy pictures of it. I doubt it would be a E class, they are still testing the facelift and the new car will not come untill 2016 and we did not see the first spy pictures of the W212 until some 6 months after the introduction of the w211 facelift so unless MB wants to present new E class first with a coupe or a cabrio and that maybe a year before the limo it is not a E class. So probably a C class.

Wow, that does look a bit smaller!
My question is, has Mercedes confirmed an Ocean Drive 4-door convertible... if so, it`s only logical to make the next CL
(S-Coupe) smaller and sportier. This just might be the case this time around.

Why make the next new CL as large as the currect one (in droptop form) when your offering a 4-door drop-top S sedan. You would not want these cars to be the same size.

Or it could be that Mercedes are downsizing the CL to the same dimensions as the 6-series in order to make a folding roof a bit more workable. As much as I would want to see a convertible S-Class the technical challenge is immense.

All hell would break loose if MB made the CL smaller... well at least I would raise hell lol.

If Rolls-Royce can fit a folding top over the gargantuan that is the Drophead Coupe, I think MB should have no problem with this feat. I dream of a proper (large big body) 4-Door S-Class Cabriolet....

Don't you think is the next gen C class coupe/cabrio? After all, the upcoming C sedan have been testing for some months now, so it's quite logical they now start testing the cabrio/coupe. It also appears on Wolfgang's protfolio target.

IMO is quite small for been the next S class cabrio, and the E class coupe (and ergo, cabrio) is on the facelift stage yet, so no new E coupe/cabrio for a while

Although the Drophead Coupe is large as a barge its cabin is a bit smaller than the one of the Phantom. But yeah shrinking the CL would be a disaster given that its interior volume is that makes it unique and grand. However Im still having my fingers crossed for an Ocean Drive!

Gotta be the next C Cabrio. I just don't get how his can be a RWD car with those weak proportions though.
