ICE/EV compatible platform = larger gross height of the body.
Yeah on a sedan maybe, but that hardly matters on a SUV, if at all. Particularly a big one like the X5.

I'm just pointing out what I seeYeah on a sedan maybe, but that hardly matters on a SUV, if at all. Particularly a big one like the X5.
Indeed. Looks more an touring rather than a SUV.It seems lowered vs. current generation?
I agree. More space for the 3rd row.Indeed. Looks more an touring rather than a SUV.
Gives me Audi Q7 vibes.
The X5 has X-shaped DRL bars, a tall centralBody proportions looks like it would be very accurate. Not sure why they're assuming a X3-style DRL though, I figured it would be a fang-style DRL like the facelift M3 lights.
BMW’s decision not to implement a full plug-in hybrid system as seen in the XM is important. The plug-in hybrid system, while powerful, adds considerable weight due to its larger battery pack and electric components. For the X5 M, which prioritizes agility and on-road dynamics, maintaining a lighter curb weight is critical.
Maybe the LCI 5 gets a similar face to the forthcoming X5. Central grille and all. The LCI G05 X5 does have some similarities to the 5er.Looks like it’s going to be difficult to go for a 5er once the new X5 is in the market. Not only it already looks better based on the spy pics, it will also look much more modern, with a better interior design and a more logical M version.
Poor 5er…
Likely the decision for the M5 to go PHEV was made years ago when the expectation for stricter Euro 7 regulations was still in place. Unfortunate result of that situation. Similar to how VW got rid of the manual GTIs because they were expecting the stricter regulations.![]()
The X5 prioritizes low weight and the M5 doesn't. Should definitely have been the other way around if we had to choose.
Poor 5er…
X7? Looks very long![]()
