X5 [Spy Shots] Next Gen BMW X5 (G65) and iX5 - coming in 2027?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

Nice Wheels. You can see the iXFactor in its length.

Another rendering. I can see similarities in the rear. The light strip and centre dimple. But the character line and wheel arches are more like the original X5 and Vision X where the arches are part of the character line and not just something to break up the mass.
Rear glasshouse is sharper like the X3 and Vision X. This render looks to be based on the X3 so proportions look off.

Reminds me of this. And people were complaining about the loss of the instrument binnacle on recent interiors in favor of tacked-on screens in the dash. I guess it can always get worse.

The industry is moving away from driver oriented interiors, sad to see BMW doing the same, as it once was the bastion of driver focus and the sportier of the German trio.

Porsche has been holding on. Even Mercedes in the SL/AMG GT still kept the instrument cluster.

Agree. Very disapointing to see how BMW is following Tesla as a trained dog….

Mixing both iX and X5 in its proportions as it will effectively do the job of both.

@kelsonik provides another rendering. Using some of the evidence from the prototypes which will fuse Neue-Klasse and classic modern BMW design.

The cosmetics are missing such as the X-shaped headlight lenses. And the sculptural elements surrounding the wheel arches that remind you of the E53.

Rear lights are not particularly pretty…

Should this illustration be accurate, it is further testimony in favour of German manufacturers getting their SUVs and sport crossovers right. Moreso than their sedans/estates as of late.

This looks very good, I hope the end product will look similar. And hopefully they will keep the Hofmeister kink, and don’t take it away like they did at one stage with the X3.

Don't know if I agree. While I think this applies to BMW, I think M-B's and Audi's sedans and wagons, while a bit expected and not earth-shattering, are just fine. I consider the E the class leader, excelling in almost all categories. If the A5 portends to ICE sedans and wagons from Audi, again, while not earth-shattering, are safely handsome with regards to their exteriors while their interiors definitely leave me wanting. M-B's SUV's, save for the iconic and anachronistic G-wagen, are very much long in the tooth. Disregarding the Q8 line of SUVs, I feel I can say the same for Audi's "off-roaders."

As of right now, BMW's recent 3-box design language is just odd and just doesn't have that much appeal to me. Their SUVs, with the exception to that ghastly XM, are better looking compared to their competition. I am hoping the NK cars are able to inject some good design mojo back into their ICE counterparts.

I will certainly agree that the W/S 214 E-Class cars are very handsome. And I would state the same regarding the W/V223 S-Class sedans. However, absolutely not so with regard to the EQE and EQS sedans. I find the SUV version of the EQE far more compelling in terms of exterior design.

Also agree, although I quite like the interiors as well. The upcoming A7 line could be quite good as well. The A6 etrons, on the other hand, are NOT very good looking cars IMHO. Homely and plump.

Although I still find them handsome and have endured the sands of time well.

I, on the other hand, find the Q8 becoming long in tooth. And the Q6 etron, "pleasant" at the very most-but not very exciting at all. The new Q5 is quite alright, I think.

Yes, the G70/71 far more so than the G60/61. I'm actually getting used to the new 5er. The G20/21 has been around for quite some time though. I loved it when it was first presented. But obviously, it is no longer as exciting. I generally like BMW SUVs. I've even gotten used to the iX.

Is this the X5M (if there’ll be one) or the M60? Will there be a petrol X6 in this generation or it’s going the same way as the X4?
