X5 [Spy Shots] Next Gen BMW X5 (G65) and iX5 - coming in 2027?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
Good to see that people think it looks promising, but personally I can’t see a shit with all that camo….

You'll get there eventually.

After the weird G60 5er, the X5 might be the only model, together with the 3er, that BMW nails time after time.

The F15 was almost as awkward as the G60 is now, so I disagree

3er remains without blemishes as of yet lol

Fair enough. F15 was quite indeed too van-ish for my taste too. I tend to save it because the X5 M version looked amazing.

I do wonder when we'll see the G50 3er spy shots first surface. Truly should be any day now given it's going in production in 2026. Hope it retains traditional proportions just like how the new X3 is traditional vs the iX3.

Hopefully see the first prototypes show up before the coming winter season for snow testing. The 5er G60 was first spied in 2021 before being revealed in 2023. Sorry for going off-topic.

Unless they do something weird with the overhangs it should be almost the same as the G20 in terms of proportions.
It's said to be a heavy refresh of the G20 similar to the "new" ICE Mini and "new" Mustang.
How much will change remains to be seen.

License plate in the rear is in the same place as it's on the new X3.

I have yet to see how it looks in real life, but my gut feeling prefers X1 style (between the lights and not so low).

We will probably see the i3 going in to August/September.

I can see the X5 and X7 covering for the iX when it starts to fade. Hopefully iX should reflect on both these models.

The Prototype is giving up some secrets already. You can see the long light bar outline and the dimple or “face butt” where the badge will be on the rear tailgate. Same goes for the front.

Comparing Vision X to the iX5 prototype indicates how much this language will be more prominent on the iX5 and less dramatic on the iX3.

Had to happen. But the X5/ iX5 receives its first render. Having been well received in US clinics and its manufacturing base in Spartanburg. Attention moves to other markets in the Western hemisphere.

As I said previously the Vision X leads more to the X family visuals than just the iX3.
The prototype offers clues to the appearance including the now familiar visuals and placements.

Typical X5 surface character lines again broaden the wheel arches but being more squared off like the new X3 but broader like VisionX.
The rear lights are placed higher across the rear deck separated with an indent housing the BMW logo which can be seen on the prototypes. The biggest visual Addition is the headlights using an X outline. Which with its technology is more reminiscent of a Space invader symbol but not too far off the X shaped headlight on the BMW R1300GS.

This render looks quite good, looks muscular like a X5 should. Not fat and blubby like the current iX.

just like avarvarii's renders, kolesa renders are usually off and have design errors. this is just an x5 with NK suv design.

I don’t think BMW will pull off this front like on the concept, I mean, where are the projectors? And this 3D effect? Really curious to see how this design turns out for production

I like those kolesa.ru renderings. The half-circular wheelarch openings with the body colored lip extentions are simply very befitting for SUV/Sport Activity vehicles. The car looks good in other aspects as well. Fresh, modern.

It will be a typical facia and grille for the Petrol/Diesel variants. The all-electric shown in a new shade of bright silver. Has the area enclosed .

I am liking what I am seeing so far on the covered mule. It has classic X5 proportions but it somehow looks more compact than the current model.
