M3/M4 [Spy Shots] BMW M3 & M4 (G80/G82/G83)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

Yeah. But on the same time it looks sleeker. Imho aesthetically the 4er easily beats THE 8. An...
On the contrary I think that the greater length will always give the advantage to the 8 in elegance, combined very well with aggressiveness, a desirable and aspirational beauty beyond the reach of the majority and with all the dynamic appearance that very few cars have even in their segment, the 8 is a car at another level.

The new 4 I do not see it as a reduced 8, nor as an enlarged 2, nor do I think they should even be compared, it will just be very unique (as we know) without even just remembering its four-door brothers, aesthetically, apparently until Now, it will be a wonder to my liking at least and on its own merit.

In what way? I would rather have 200-300kg less weight over better leather.

Although I wholeheartedly agree with you ... where do you want the M8 to go then? It already has (with approx. 1880kg weight) the track performance of a 911 turbo 991.2! With 200kg less it would be McLaren territory

Static originates from Status and is the antonym of dynamic
??
Status as is its meaning.
I am not implying at any time the dynamism of the car, which of course will be better in the 4, but the social status / price / segment of the 8, more car..

Rear side of the G80 M3 spotted in Durban, don’t let the badge fool you it’s to throw you off.

M4 vs M8 is a peculiar internal battle. With most car manufacturers, the most expensive cars have the greatest status.

However BMW is one of the few exception where the M3/M4 is the epitome of the brand and the most respected car even though it's far from the most expected one. The M8 is an absolute beast and clearly a 10/10th car.

At legal speeds I reckon an M4 offers higher smiles per gallon while the M8 feels most at home on the autobahn.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
