I think the Vertical Grilles will remain for all iX-er models. The sedan etc will no doubt get the horizontal grille. Which if you look at it, again connects to the headlights once more.

I hope that the large vertical grilles are not going anywhere, I see that at least the vertical ones are not, welcome the coexistence with the long horizontal ones now in the sedans.

I like the effect of the Kidneys in their emulation of depth

I think the beaver look is something that will vanish once we will get the offical pics.

Have in mind the angle the photo was made, the distortion makes all the strange sensation.

Super excited to see more of this, I think it could look great.

Let’s hope it won’t look like that.
If it’s so the NK announcment and hype won’t make any sense. It would be another Van Hooydonk’s uninspiring improvisation from the current soup.

If it’s really a vision for the whole lineup we should see more clean and straight lines with retro-oriented minimalism and not repeating any overcharged iX’s, 4er’s or X2’s.

That's true max I thought they hid the edge joint, but I did expect it to be something larger and somehow much more upright than the NK sedan, but I never imagined the return of the little seventy.

Well I wasn’t ready for that. Where did that small vertical kidney come from? Isn’t the whole idea of Neue Klasse design language was mixing grille and headlights together in a one piece? Idk. Looks odd. Feels like I’m losing my faith in BMW design. It’s kinda sad when your favorite car maker constantly comes up with weird as f#ck designs.

You can't have the same design for all NCARs. Same as you didn't have it on CLAR. Same idea.

Exactly my thoughts. I thought the idea they had in place worked fantastic. This “backtracking” feels as if someone earned a fee for inserting the damn vertical grille on each new model.

Yup. The car looks nothing like in that image. So distorted. It looks like an X3, you'll see. Great proportions, great rear end and the front-end looks "normal"

I don't hate the headlight to grille treatment tbh. It's not painful to look at unlike the XM. I do wish the bumper design a bit more elegant tho

Anything can happen from here on out, maybe not in the i3 sedan, but in the next i2/2 series coupe and GC?

Like it or not, it already complied (even before seeing it in correct photos), with the law motive of a concept, which is precisely to surprise and cause even a little "controversy".

The truth is that the brand will have heated discussions for and against, giving a lot of visibility to its firsts NK's, a highly appreciated organic advertising.

Would this and the NK sedan bring about a retro-futur revival like in the 90's?

The newcomer R5 is doing well, and also the established Mini, Fiat 500, that Rivian R3, to start with just a few, Renault will continue with the R4 (perhaps) and the Twingo which it already looks like it will be.
Hopefully others will continue, Mercedes should do another "SLS" type,....... reinterpret the W124?

Personally I would like it, because I like this trend, not for all the models of a brand, but for some, 2 or 3......

Same here, it’s growing on me even though I liked it since I discovered the leak.

I hope they will implememt the small kidneys also on the sedan instead of going for huge horizontal signature.
