Not the best quality but gives you an idea. Either way it looks much better than the first prototypes. View attachment 886969

Somehow, I think the re-profiled G60/G90 facelift is starting to look even more cooperate and in line with the brand new G50/G84 facially than the previous G60/G90 test vehicle.

Come on, the M5 spy pics show the front lights entirely! These renders should be way more accurate.View attachment 887148View attachment 887149View attachment 887150View attachment 887151View attachment 887152View attachment 887153View attachment 887154View attachment 887155View attachment 887156View attachment 887157View attachment 887158View attachment 887159

Here is some information available to "the common person" on the Internet:
"In 2025, the BMW 5 Series (G60) reclaimed the title of the world’s best-selling executive car, overtaking the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W214). While both models launched around the same time, BMW’s flexible powertrain strategy (offering ICE, PHEV, and the electric i5 on one platform) gave it a significant volume advantage, particularly in Europe and the US.
2025 Global Sales Performance
As of the end of Q3 2025, the BMW 5 Series leads the segment with a global market share of approximately 5.7%, while the Mercedes-Benz E-Class follows in third place (behind the Audi A6) with a 5.1% share.

Key Drivers of the Gap
Model Philosophy Comparison
- The "i5" Factor: BMW’s electric variant, the i5, has been a massive success, frequently outselling the Mercedes EQE. By integrating the electric model into the 5 Series lineup rather than a separate brand, BMW consolidated its sales figures more effectively.
- Regional Shifts: * Europe: The 5 Series saw a dramatic 56% surgein demand in early 2025, while the E-Class grew by a more modest 19%.
- China: Mercedes-Benz has historically dominated China, but increased competition from domestic luxury EVs and a general 27% decline in Mercedes' Chinese sales in Q3 2025 allowed BMW to close the gap.
- USA: BMW passenger car sales grew nearly 10% in 2025, whereas Mercedes faced a 6% decline in the U.S. market.
- Production & Availability: Mercedes-Benz faced more significant supply chain headwinds and "generational shifts" in 2024/2025, which slowed the initial ramp-up of the W214 compared to the G60.
The sales data reflects a split in consumer preference for 2025:
- BMW G60: Attracted "tech-forward" buyers and those wanting a sporty driving experience, with the M5 Touring and i5 M60 acting as strong halo models.
- Mercedes W214: Remained the choice for traditional luxury and comfort, but its reliance on a high-price strategy and the "Superscreen" technology received a more polarized reception from legacy buyers."
End of production: October 2031 for the G60 and G90 sedans. While the G61 and G99 tourings will be finished by June 2032. Hopefully, this potential extensive facelift will be a game changer for the whole G6X and G9X families to justify their longer production cycles. This car will be with us until 2031 I believe, BMW better get this FL right.
I don't understand the desperation; the car is perfectly fine as it is. A few people here are expressing their respectable dissatisfaction with the design, opinions that have nothing to do with reality.
The Neu Klass front end will be a big improvement IMO.
Agreed. I don't think any of us can argue the 5 has been a resounding market susccess. Our reservations regarding styling and interior materials haven't impacted this.

LCI will be introduced in 2027. Therefore, it will have a fresh look for 4 years until 2031. I don't think a second facelift will be necessary. This very likely won't be the last facelift. There's no way the facelift 5er will stay unchanged for another 5 years. It'll likely be something like what Mercedes is doing with the GLE and GLS; these are on their Nth facelift with another one coming up..

Or bringt back the M550, a V8 without Hybrid.
