5 Series (G60/G61/G68) [Spy Shots] BMW G60 5 Series LCI

The BMW G60/G61/G68 is the eighth generation of the 5 Series. Revealed on May 24, 2023, it commenced production in the summer of 2023 at BMW's Dingolfing Plant, with first deliveries beginning around October 2023. Body styles included: 4-door sedan/saloon (G60), 5-door wagon/estate (G61), and 4-door long-wheelbase saloon (G68).

Something perhaps really petty....but still...

I've never grown to accept those gloss black rocker skirts. A body colored skirt with a matte silver, gloss black or carbonfiber anthracite inlay, a bit like what Porsche offers as an option on the Taycan, could look pretty good, IMHO.

I do agree with BMW Blog in terms of the new prototype is a reminiscent of the E39 generation by wearing the new set of camouflage on the kidney grille. Literally jumping from a throwback to the E60 on the pre-L.C.I. form to the E39 on the L.C.I. form. This makes me wonder if BMW is going to add the E39 flares to the entire G6X and G9X families for their upcoming mid cycle updates, while still keeping them in sync with the Neue Klasse design philosophy.

P.S.: Since the whole 5 Families: G60, G61, G90 and G99 are going to live longer than what BMW has originally planned for them to end their production cycles from one to two years. I still strongly believe that the Neue Klasse makeover will prominently be presented in both front and rear fascias of the vehicle even with some of the subtle adjustments made to the kidney grille to justify the longer life span they needed. BMW will still make sure that the ongoing 5er Families will be able to blend and cooperate with the newer, younger set of forthcoming N.K. inspired models externally. Before being replaced by the full ninth generation with the likeliness of having the two distinct, separate platforms.

A little bit sexier than the original prototype with the touch of E39 flares due to the slimmer headlight silhouettes. But the Neue Klasse design philosophy is still going strong. Also, the positioning of the headlights that located below the character lines on the latest test vehicle are sitting even lower than the previous one. While the air intake is literally being carried over from the old test mule. So, my personal theory on the reworked G90 L.C.I. is a matter that BMW is intentionally trying to add and insert the vintage/retro elements on to the facelift 5er/i5/M5 families which in return they will likely to be mimicking the older generations of the 5 Series facially.

The first facelifted G60/G90 prototypes were early test vehicles, as they were spotted less than 1.5 years after the car went on sale.

The new prototypes still retain the NK design, but with a more sporty look. They feature slimmer, sportier headlights.

Frankly, the new prototypes look much more stylish.

Funnily enough, speaking of the front fascia of the G90 M5 facelift prototypes. I personally feel like it went from a reminiscent of the electric ZA0 M3 on the original test vehicle to a reminiscent of the combustion G84 M3 on the updated test vehicle.

Not early, they simply revised them. For many reasons

Got to give it to @bmwblog, mules are clearly different. And, tbh, the new ones look much better.
We first posted about this 6 months ago and no one believed they will change :)

As I said in the past: I do my best to post accurate news based on real sources. It's the job.
