i just hope BMW realise that the 7er is still suppose to be a BMW, who cares if the S class gets that magic carpet suspension or other gadgets that are more of a gimmick thing rather than practical thing? Do less of the cost cutting, or at least do it right, and make a better CAR. don't need spaceships here, it's just a damn CAR and what's needed is a good car, not anything else. There are people who like gimmick gadgets or something else but BMW buyers are about cars.

@ Home, I am. In the 7er thread I am. Not trolling in the W222 thread I am not ;) Let me speak my mind then.

+1(y) Kudos!!! The S-class is just that, doing nothing wrong at being a gimmick showcase don't get me wrong but one gimmick laden smartphone on wheels is more than enough, thanks. That is why you do get OE's with different names, products AND customers e.g Mercedes-Benz and BMW, otherwise what's the point!?

I also agree and repeating myself again, let the next BMW 7 series be a to the 'T' BMW! Please, no really, please!

I have never said that the 7er will feature those.
The ConnectedDrive Technology coming to the 7er for driver and passenger is ... To use a word technologically groundbreaking.

That's the Autobild Render that was submitted the first time.

The rendering artist Theophilus Chin has taken an attempt too.

Stunning- it looks.
CS- it reminds me of.
Build it- BMW will not.

It will not look like that Scott.

I am sorry but did you not read my post? The drawing was the Autobild image which you can find on the actual artists page.
I did read your post.
It may be hard for you to believe but I do take some of your posting seriously. In the past there are have been some correlations between some of the renders you have reposted with the final product.
So I am hoping that what you just reposted is one of those cases- but I honestly don't want to get too excited.
It is a stunning render.

Agree. 1 Series looked f#ckly on renders.

BMW have started to evaluate the new S-Klasse as two have now arrived at the FIZ, I asked one of the managers with the G11 what he thought of the S-Klasse and how he sees the 7er in light of the advancements showcased on the S-Klasse.

He says the S-Klasse still does the best in business at rejuvenation where it takes the effort out of everything so there is less mental stress when you are en-route to your destination. With most S-Klasse owners preferring to relax in the rear collecting their thoughts.
With the 7er as per all generations a 7er is driven so it has to be more physical which is what they are perfecting at the moment in undisguised prototypes behind closed doors at BMWs test tracks in Germany and France.

In contrast to the interior , the 7er is more like a modern lounge , surfaces , minimalism and cutting edge tech. Whilst the S goes for the palais d' Versailles appearance expected of a high end luxury car but with BMW owning Rolls-Royce there is less need for a carbon copy.

^the fact of the matter is that the S-Class accomplishes its goal (comfort) completely, while the 7er fails to become the "sportiest car" in the segment. Also, RR is irrelevant here, just because they own it, doesn't mean that they need to forget luxury, it is like telling a Camry buyer to go buy an LS because the Camry doesn't hold up to the accord interiorwise, crappy and prolly untrue example but, you get the point. You are right, it doesn't need to be a carbon copy, but they are still neglecting the interior, and comfort as a whole, a little too much IMO.

Exactly. The current 7-Series has soundly been trumped by the XJ and A8 in the driver department.

In what way are they "still neglecting the interior"?

^It lacks the ambiance of the S, and it is almost exactly the same as a 5 series interior. They need to incorporate a tad more of what they have interior-wise in the Rolls into the 7.

Ah, ok. That I agree with. But BMW could make the interior more upscale without using RR elements (should be kept separate IMO). And while the interiors definitely look the same, they're not. Have you sat in the 5 and the 7? You do notice the difference, really.

Well, thus far they have not proven that they can - and they need to. Yes, I have been in both the 5 and the 7 (lol, I assure you I would never make such accusations blindly). You are correct, there is a clear difference, but I just can't get over the fact that they look so similar.
