Autozeitung is reporting the dutch DJ-star "Afrojack" and other people with adequate pocket change were invited to an exclusive Chiron presentation event in London.
The DJ was so confident he signed a contract. The papers are inside in the folder with a "C" at the front. He will be one of the first owners in 2017.

Instagram user Erico Hessel has spotted a Bugatti Chiron prototype performing testing on a public road somewhere in Italy.

The Veyron is finally history after 10 years of production, so naturally Bugatti is working intensively on its successor that will likely be called “Chiron” after a concept dating back to 1999. Seen here is a prototype which appears to have the production body that obviously takes cues from the rather spectacular Vision Gran Turismo concept unveiled in September at IAA in Frankfurt.

The new shape oozes sleekness and kind of tells us it will be significantly lighter than the Veyron, even though the new megacar will actually be a hybrid which means it will pack more hardware. That will be necessary to enable a higher top speed estimated to stand at 280 mph (450 km/h), following a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in just over two seconds thanks to an upgraded 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine that is believed to generate as much as 1,500 PS (1,103 kW) by adopting e-turbo technology.

Expected to cost an eye-watering €2.2 million, the Bugatti Veyron successor will likely debut in March at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and it seems a "double-digit number of clients" are already waiting for their cars after placing deposits for what will be the ultimate hybrid machine. While Veyron production was capped at 450 units, Bugatti has high hopes the Chiron will be more successful which is why they plan on making 500 examples, preferably in a shorter life cycle.

This time around, Volkswagen is confident they can actually make some money with a new Bugatti which is why car is still on track for a 2016 release despite the dieselgate which has forced VAG to postpone or even cancel some models that are not entirely necessary.

Ok, that design outcome I didn't expect.

It looks like a mixture of the original Veyron shape, with some batmobile cues and a touch of pre-WWII Bugattis. It certainly looks amazing!

Oh yeah that is more like it, that front end is quite sinister.

I love the front end. But do dislike the half moon shape of the profile.

I know, but I thought that use of carbon will shred it to 1.7, 1.8 tons. On the other side, we should wait official figures.

Perhaps the quoted figure is for the hybrid version. The Veyron's structure is made from carbon too, but with the advancement of material science, the engineers should be able to take more weight away from the carbo monocoque. They did lighten the monocoque by 35kg on the Veyron SS.

Bugatti Chiron allegedly teased to prospective buyers

Bugatti has reportedly shared the first teaser image of the Chiron to its prospective customers.

What we’ve got here is a design sketch of the upcoming Bugatti Veyron successor that will likely be called the Chiron. The company has already revealed the model in several private events for potential buyers. They have also received this image as a teaser to what we will see during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The teaser doesn’t show much but we see a familiar body shape with the so-called “horse-shoe” design. It is believed the Chiron will be heavily influenced by the Vision GranTurismo concept and the image is giving us one more reason to believe in this.

While the automaker is trying to keep the technical details of the car in secret, we already know most of the juicy details. The supercar will use an evolution of the W16 8.0-liter quad-turbo engine with 1,500 HP (1,103 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,107 lb-ft). It will be mated to a DSG automatic gearbox, enabling the Chiron to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.3 seconds.

The French company is working on even more impressive figures, such as the 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) sprint that should take around 15 seconds and the maximum speed that should reach the enormous 500 km/h (311 mph) mark.

we had already reached 400mph (640kph) by 1947 with the railton mobil special powered by 2 napier-lion W12 engines (1 for each axle)
Yes, but we are talking about useable road legal cars here. I also doubt the Chiron will ever be able to reach 500km/h, not with conventional wheels and tyres.
