Aventador [2011-2022] [Spy Shots] 2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV?

The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engine, two passenger sports car manufactured from 2011 until 2022. Named after a prominent Spanish fighting bull that fought in Zaragoza, Aragón, in 1993, the Aventador succeeded the Murciélago and was manufactured in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV?

Lamborghini engineers have just begun testing what looks to be an even faster version of the Aventador supercar, almost sneaking past our spy photographers' cameras at the Nurburgring.

While this bright yellow Aventador first appeared to be stock, a closer look reveals that this may very well be an early test car for the Aventador SV!

The race ready, center lock wheels and the super thin, high performance tires set this Aventador apart from the regular model. The front brake calipers are also mounted in a different position than the normal Aventador.

This particular Lamborghini Aventador is also sporting an additional aerodynamic piece up front, making for an even lower air splitter. Also, at the rear, we can see that an extra aerodynamic flap has been added to the spoiler for extra downforce, sometimes referred to as a Gurney flap.

Watch for more details around the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.

Last time we wrote about Lamborghini developing a more extreme version of the Aventador, its test vehicle was lapping the Nurburgring. We’ve now come across a rendering of the Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce (SV), which shows just how aggressive the model could be.

There are certain elements on the digitally-manipulated Aventador that may seem too extreme, such as the front apron or the rear wing. However, considering how mean that predecessor of the model (Murcielago LP670-4 SV) looked, the real car may look just as stunning.

And the Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce will get more than just an upgraded aerodynamic package. The 6.5-liter V12 engine at the car’s center is expected to be pushed from 700 hp to somewhere around 750-770 hp.

Lamborghini is expected to launch the Aventador SV at the 2014 Frankfurt Auto Show, but expect more details to arrive meanwhile.

The Lamborghini Aventador is many things to many people: ultimate modern expression of the supercar; overstyled and underperforming; just too expensive. But it's most certainly special. It may soon become even more so, if the Aventador SV turns up the wick as high as it appears to. The spy photos reveal more aggressive, lower front aerodynamic elements and very large brakes. A gurney flap appears to be affixed to the rear wing. Whether that's being tested for production, or merely to simulate a new, higher-downforce rear wing not yet fitted to the car

isn't clear.

With the standard Aventador delivering up to 710 horsepower (in LP 720-4 50° Anniversario form), the SV could end up as high as 800 horsepower. The 6.5-liter V-12 engine will see upgrades, but is expected to remain fundamentally the same.
With 0-60 mph runs of less than 3.0 seconds already available with the Aventador, the Aventador SV could tumble into the mid-two-second range.

Already extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the standard model means the Aventador SV's trim and interior could focus on more hardcore, race-themed uses for lighter weight and greater function. A lighter, louder exhaust system could also help shed weight. Ultimately, little is known so far about the Aventador SV, but it's potential is clear. The SV is expected to join the Lamborghini lineup in late 2014. Production will likely be limited to a relatively small quantity--the Murcielago SV was limited to 350 cars, though only 186 were ultimately built.

Did all those magazines suddenly forget that the flagship Lamborghini's have historically always received a mid-life update (or several) before the ultimate (SV, 5000QV, GT and SV again) re-incarnation came along? More so, this ultimate version always - and logically - came at the very end of the particular model's life. How can they all get it so wrong is beyond me. (Btw, the brake calipers aren't mounted in a different position.)

If I were to speculate, I would say that in 2014-2015 we will see simply a beefed up version of the current car, sporting 740-750PS - in line and slightly above the F12 - maybe 20kg lighter and maybe with the tweaks we see on the prototypes right now. Or maybe those will just be a part of some track pack s-line option.

Lamborghini Aventador SV coming in a few months

Company could already be accepting orders
According to a recent report, Lamborghini will introduce an Aventador SV shortly.

Details are limited but Team Salamone - from Gumball rally fame - is claiming they have ordered the first Aventador SV. According to them, the model will be introduced "in months from now" and production will occur shortly afterwards.

We're taking everything with a grain of salt but the Aventador SV would likely follow in the footsteps of the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce and feature an aggressive body kit, a minimalist interior and a number of weight saving measures. The car could also have an upgraded engine but nothing is official as of yet.

Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce arrives in 2015

The Lamborghini is working on a more powerful and lighter version of the supercar, the Aventador SuperVeloce. The philosophy of the versions "SuperVeloce" is very simple: less weight and a slight increase in power. It happened with its predecessor, the Murcielago SuperVeloce. The car gained 30 hp and at the same time, lost about 100 kg, benefiting of course the weight / power ratio. Moreover, we expect aerodynamic improvements for this Aventador "superfast", including a large rear wing and redesigned diffuser. The Aventador is currently available in two variants of power: the LP700-4 of 700cv and 720cv with LP720-4. The performances, however, are identical. Launching a stronger version of top of the line brand became increasingly urgent after the presentation of Huracán. The entry model has similar performance numbers, and much more affordable. The Aventador SuperVeloce should see the light of day in 2015.

The Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce (SV) has been spied for the first time while undergoing testing.

The sinister-looking black prototype was spotted on an Italian highway and as you can see it's quite different than the regular Aventador LP700-4. Gone is the centrally-positioned large exhaust pipe as this has been replaced by a quad pipe arrangement but obviously it's not the final layout as it looks unfinished. Moreover, there's an aggressive diffuser and a reshaped bumper while below the taillights are additional vents providing more cooling.

The Lamborghini Aventador SV will likely use the same recipe as its predecessor, the Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, so expect a more aggressive body, a significant weight reduction (Murcielago SV lost 100 kg) and more power (Murcielago SV gained 30 HP) coming from an uprated V12 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine which in its current configuration produces 700 HP (515 kW).

There's no word about a launch date but chances are Lamborghini will bring the Aventador SV to the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 or wait until September for the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Just saw an interesting tidbit over at lambopower:

To separate some fact from fiction, here's what we've been told from factory:
- The SV, will be single clutch
- As soon as SV is done, the facelifted Aventador is coming (makes sense, we're only 4 years into the lifecycle, and the SV production is starting in November of this year, ask me how I know
0890080b75c81c027412bd1409a464d5.webp
)
- Yes, a facelift, as it maintains the Aventador name
- The Facelift, is confirmed, to have a dual clutch transmission
- Yes, wtf Lamborghini, you're using the SV name in vain

Lamborghini Aventador SV Spied Fully Undisguised: Super Veloce Corrida

Everybody knows how Lamborghini started making supercars. A man called Ferruccio owned a tractor company. He got rich and bought a Ferrari. It kept breaking down. Ferruccio Lamborghini told Enzo Ferrari that his cars suck. Enzo said to Ferruccio that he’s a peasant and doesn’t understand cars. Ferruccio wanted to prove Enzo that he’s wrong. That pretty much sums things up.

With such a background, who would’ve wondered that the Bull would switch from manufacturing agricultural equipment to full-fledged supercars like the jaw dropping Miura, the Countach, Diablo, Murcielago and the current flagship - the Aventador? It doesn’t surprise us though. Churchill once said that a man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures.

Ferruccio was a man on a mission and he showed Fezza’s head, over and over again, that his humble, tractor making company is able to make things happen. V12-powered things, the latest of which coming in the form of the 2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV.

Yup, this is the real deal, ladies and gents, the Super Veloce we have been waiting for ever since Aventador production started 4 years ago. Our carparazzi spotted it while Lamborghini was shooting a promotional video in the warmer parts of Europe and that’s why it’s free of camouflage and looking showroom-ready.

As expected from the most extreme Raging Bull yet, a thumping great fixed rear wing joins a helluva lot of aggressive bodywork elements. As you can see in the spy photo gallery, downforce is the name of the game here. A lot of V12 thunder is also in store considering how menacing those exhaust pipes are sandwiched between the rear aerodynamic diffuser's Venturi tunnels. Yup, the single exhaust outlet was changed to a quad exhaust layout.

In terms of grunt, the 6.5-liter L539 V12 of the Aventador coupe and roadster has certainly been retuned for the Super Veloce. If the Aventador 50th Anniversario is able to churn out 720 ponies, the SV will certainly produce at least 750 Italian stallions. In the case of the now defunct Murcielago, the LP 640 made 640 PS (631 HP) and the Super Veloce outperformed it with 670 PS (661 HP).

With the Aventador’s 6.5-liter V12 lump being an all-new design, we do keep our fingers crossed a 50 horsepower increase over the standard Aventador LP 700-4 model is possible. The 2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV is expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Wow it looks so so mean! I hope it pumps out 750hp and weight 100kg less that would make a lethal combination!
