CLS [Spy shots] 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS (Spy shots & Info)

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.

The CLS will have the shapes in the concept interior, but with less costly materials. Like the original CLS is will be shaped around the E-class, but have its own distinct style.

This,

....is the current E dash in aluminum trim, with the new multi-function steering wheel that will be working its way into all MB products. Aside from the wheel, there is zero difference from what is in the E-class.

Not sure what the 204 is getting in the FL, but this is not the 204 dash.

Just a different steering wheel? Chrome function buttons ... climate .... control panel with three areas (without the clock ... thank god).It could be the sport's version ..... W212 aluminum, three-spoke steering wheel .... or even an upgrade to the overall level of E?

What is not inside the CLS ....

I can't believe you guys are still going on about this, its an E-Class interior. Not the CLS or the C-Class. Mercedes doesn't rip out entire interiors for facelifts and they surely aren't going to keep the same E-Class interior for the CLS.

The climate is the more basic unit used in the C, a step backwards, which indicates this is the entry model.
The basic layout is identical. So, yes, I would say this is the updated entry level model e-interior.

Based on the armrest and central controller, you can easily tell this is not the C-class.

Thank you. There's no way that's a C-Class interior. M-B would never A- Extensively change a cars interior for a F.L, and B- duplicate an E interior on a C.

Oh and C- They wouldn't put a stalk shifter in place of the center column. They're not that crazy (I don't think).

Nope, this isnt the current E dash in alu trim. Look at the speedo and tacho - it is W204..

Just a little reminder: This is CLS Spyshot thread, so let us not expand this W204 discussion…well as for the tacho you're right, it's W204 C-Class design…

:t-cheers:

Also, it does have the cheaper C-Class A/C unit.

Either way, it's gotta be some frankenstein car.

This is most certainly an early mule of the CLS, with some new elements (chrome buttons, COMAND knob, gauges, A/C unit, steering wheel), but still the W212 doorpanels and upper dash.

It has nothing to do with the W204. You cannot say it's teh W204 because the gauges look alike, c'mon.

We know already that the W204 will get a new, GLK-like upper dash with fixed screen. But of course not a whole W212 interior!

I like the proportions and stance of the car, the front and rear are much better than the current CLS, but I'm still not sure about the über-busy side treatment. Waiting for the uncovered deal to decide.

MB is waiting too long. They are going to sell a 2011 (at least here in the US) for just a few months, and then launch a 2012 early. I'd hate to be the one that buys a 2011.

Regarding interior. There is no way the C is getting column moutned shifter, and new center console. Not the 204. Move on.

Boy you guys complain a lot. The car is on a normal reveal schedule and people who buy a 2011 here in the U.S. either won't know or care about the 2012...unless you (salesmen) tell them which you probably won't since you want to move the 2011 models.
