The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. The ultrawide semi-slicks Dunlop SP Super Sport Race are not the best in the wet

Verdict: 62 pts.
As much as the Porsche Cayman S but 1 pt. less than the standard BMW6
mainyl due to the hogh price of 260,00 EUR, only one-off and a bit too extreme to compete with some mcuh cheaper but well balanced sports cars

-------------------------------
Faster than standard M6 around the track but slower in acceleration. Tuners suck? :eusa_thin

Standard M6:
0-100km/h 4.2 sec
0-200km7h 12,8 sec

Nordschleife 8.09min
Hockenheim: 1.14,4 min

While the numbers don't greatly differ from the regular M6, acheiving under 8 mintues on the 'Ring is a great acheivement. Although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dissapointed.

AC Schnitzer Tension Street Version -Fastest road legal Bmw?

The German tuner AC Schnitzer claims that its Tension Street Version of BMW’s 6 Series is the fastest road legal BMW in the world, reaching a top speed close to 332 km/h.Maybe Hamann has a word to say about this?

I we look at the AC Tension Street specification is easy to believe is the fastest Bmw…
Depending on the basic model the Tension Street Version can be equipped with the 5.1 l engine which can be used for all 6 series with N62 B44 oder N62 B48 TU engine. Whereas the basic engine gives maximum torques of 450 or 490 Nm, the 5.1 l engine achieves 550 Nm. Naturally the performance has been optimised. It rises from 245 kW (333 HP) or 270 kW (367 HP) to a superb 302 kW (411 HP).
With or without engine tuning - to give the Tension Street Version a more powerful voice and at the same time optimise the response behaviour and gas throughput, the new fully stainless steel rear silencer system “Sports Trim” has been adapted accordingly for Tension Street Version conversion.
The Tension Street Version based on M6 can be equipped optionally with a high performance brake system. On the front axle this takes the uncompromising form of an 8-pot fixed caliper with standard brake disks in (Ø 374 mm) and with 36 mm thickness. The equipment level also includes 8 special brake pads.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
