Some of my recent cars

Now that surprised me as I honestly thought coupes would have appealed more.

My personal shocker is that the switch to the SQ5 from the RS4 hasn't bothered me one bit. I really must be getting old when I can say that. :(

Deckhook i must say all those cars you owned are Brilliant..you have great taste in cars mate...Do you ever consider a Mercedes or are you not a Fan....Also what are your current cars whats your impression on the Cayenne the new one.

I've toyed with the idea of a Merc many times but as yet I haven't been completely won over by their design apart from the CLS which has only 4 seats and I have 5 of a family. In August the brother collects in new SLK so I will get a good lengthy spell driving it over the next 18 months so this might just make me rethink the idea of owning a Mercedes.

As for the Cayenne, I don't care what other's may think but in my opinion it's the best allround SUV money can buy, it handling far exceeds your expectations of how an SUV should handle, in fact I found myself taking corners at speeds I would have done in the S4 or M3 and never give it a second thought. Having driven the brother's X6 35d tens of times I was very familiar with it's turn of speed for such a big car but in my and his opinion the chipped Cayenne is way quicker, the guy who did it reckons it's produced 300hp but I raced my old S4 against it and it took quite a speed before the superior aerodynamics and power from the S4 to show itself, a speed I won't state here that's for sure so I'm guessing it's a very healthy 300hp. The only negative point I can give to the Cayenne is the revised air suspension, great in comfort or sport mode as long as you don't lower it because otherwise I found it a bit unsettled.

^ I agree on everything you said about the Cayenne, my only gripe with this car was the excessive oil consumption and the cheap plastic pieces on the steering wheel which were wearing out pretty quickly

1000km = 1.5ltr Mobil 1
3,800km = 1ltr Mobil 1
5,000km = 1tlr Mobil 1
8,000km = 0.5ltr Mobil 1 (software updated and the shifts became smoother)

Probably it could've been my hard driving + sport mode

I wished I had went for this s/wheel with the paddles, just couldn't get use to the buttons with their odd action.

Same with my X6 M, uses on average (when driven hard and I do most of the time) 0.5L / 1000km.

No colour options are listed for it as yet other than Estroil Blue which is probably the colour I will end up with. I also believe there will be different seat colour options, probably similar to that of the S4/5 which would be nice, CF trim is a must if not to expensive.

Yeah, that blue is one amazing colour. I am waiting for the petrol version of the SQ5 (still hate that name!) before I order mine. And I am starting to plan to maybe get a RS4 B7 sedan also :)

I've asked about the petrol version but all I got was will be shown soon, not so sure it will be offered here. Estriol Blue is an amazing colour and in my opinion the best shape of blue I've seen in a long long time.

I enjoyed the cayenne also very sporty but i felt the Ml was a better ride and also bit larger and spacious so for me a better allround for the Suv purpose..Also i find the engine better in th ML and the list of options made it so so expensive as almost nothing was standard on the cayenne..You have to pay for floor mats metellic was like R20 thousand or so..these are just examples...Good luck with the new car ordered.

I know what you mean about extras, I ticked my way through £13k before I got something remotely liveable. lol The ride of the ML is smoother no doubt but more lean in corners, as for space the Cayenne was more than enough for me but if my son still did wheelchair basketball then I would have kept the big Q7. The one thing about SUVs that is so appealing is the driving position, sitting higher than most others is great for you the driver and brilliant for the kids playing I spy. lol

I sight customers seldom see of their cars before collection. lol
