Hot! What is the ugliest Mercedes-Benz design in recent times

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
Facelifted R-Class is a huge improvement and not altogether ugly considering what it is. The CLA - man oh man - what to make of it. I dunno. When viewed soberly in pictures from certain unflattering angles the car is just blech! I reserve ultimate judgement for when I see it in the tin.
I've seen several CLA IRL already. Looks much, much better than on Photo. Not only the AMG ones, also the "normal" version is much better looking.

Rather than saying ugly, I would say that the only good looking Mercedes from all angles right now is the new S class. All other Mercedes' current models have good and bad sides to their designs. But I won't use the term ugly for any of their current car. Rather I will use the terms like less attractive, mundane, boring, out of proportion and most applicable...monotonous.

Some of their cars have good looking front and ugly rear designs and vice versa such as the old R class front and the CLA rear are ugly by Mercedes' historical standards of clean sheet designs.

Considering how much I adore Mercedes-Benz, this is a very hard task. Personally there isn't a Mercedes-Benz ever created that "I" would call ugly. As far as ones I don't like....

GLK (Pre and Post facelift)
R-class

You don't mind looking at the CLC?

This is just my humble opinion, but when I saw the new SL for the first time, I burst into tears. It simply looked like something Hyundai would make, so artificial, emotionless and empty, by this, I don't mean "ugly" but just lacking human essence, something that a machine could design through aerodynamics. I don't know why this was the case with the SL, maybe because the previous one was so gorgeous. In the last decade, there have no doubt been models at which I have stared in awe, and some where I had been upset, but the SL was the first time I actually cried. Btw, this is very subjective and only my personal opinion, nothing more.

Like other members have said, nothing has been very "ugly," but just lacking a very specific "Mercedes-like" quality of design.

LOL! Post of the year?? LMAO

For me, (currently in production) it has to be the new SL. I really hope its facelift is miraculous like it was for the R-Class.

The ugly:

1. CLA
2. SLK
3. SL
4. A-Class
5. E-Class Sedan FL
6. GLK FL

Ugly... but there's some potential:

7. ML (with AMG-Pack it's OK)
8. R-Class Pre-FL (The FL is OK)
9. B-Class (big rims and black paint are transforming it into a hot MPV tho)

IMO lately MB are manufacturing the ugliest German cars and that's indeed charming! I love MB, they are always different!
