Thanks for posting Deckhook. I hope the haters will stop talking about your car list. But clearly you are an Audi liker with 3 of them on the list and a fourth coming, though I remember your M3. Oh, but what is with the RS4 ? Have you changed your mind ?

Sweet history there. Which one has been warmest at heart?

Looks : has to be the S5, it's the one car I still have a harking for everytime I see one.

Drive : that will be the M3, when you are in the mood it's engine and sublime chassis was a true pleasure.

To live with : well that's got to be the S4 Avant, no car offers all things in such a well balanced and well rounded package. It's engine is not only smooth but it's delivery so linear and in my opinion matched to just about the best dual clutch made. It rides well, handles great and has an interior that after 2 years is still like new.

So to answer your question it's the S4 all the way.

If you remember the M3 then you will remember the bother we all had with it's M-DCT transmission and the deadly lag it produced. As for the RS4, I already told Tumbo and Betty the reason for the switch, basically I've bought back my S4 Avant for the wife, the situation presented itself and at the right price, I knew its history (obviously) and I didn't see the point in having another A4 Avant in the household plus I'm actually quite fond of the commanding view that an SUV has. I've also secured the first order for the SQ5 in our country which is a nice bonus.

I love my Audi no doubt but I've also owned my fair share of BMWs too as well as Fords, a few Vauxhalls, a volvo and if I were to include the wife's cars then Volkswagen, Renault and Peugeot. I just love cars and I were to be completely honest and frank about my all time favourite car I've ever own it would be the E39 5 series, in my opinion BMW finest hour and an achievement they have yet to approach again never mind surpass.

Great collection there! Got to love the S5 most. Such an amazing machine. How do u compare the V8 from the S5 to the V6T from the S4 Avant? Which is the best in performance?

^Without a doubt the S4 Avant is superior, the engine just feels so much stronger plus when combined with that dual clutch it was such a compelling package. Handling and ride were also better on the S4 but it also had adaptive suspension and more importantly the Sportdiff which is a must in my opinion.

It's some and I've just found the only picture of my old E39 5 series I now have, it was taken at the site before I built our house, timescale roughly 12 years ago. Best car I ever own.

An interested story about this car, we as in myself, the brother and brother-in-law all ordered 3 RHD 5 series from Germany, a Munich dealer though I can't recall the name now. What a sight it must have been seeing 3 5 series racing up the M5 with German plates. LOL

You're killing me with that S5. Such a beauty!!

Btw, what engines where the Q7 and the Cayenne? 3.0TDI and Diesel?

Both the Q7 and Cayenne were diesel but my two previous Cayenne were petrol V8s. The surprise for me was that after I chipped the diesel Cayenne (quite troublesome but that's a different story) it actually felt stronger than the previous model V8, where they struggled to reach sixty in 6.5s the tuned diesel regularly did 6.2s and still returned 38mpg.

As for the S5, the finest looking coupe in its class by a country mile.

I took this one windy day coming back from my brother's house. Check out what's in someone's driveaway that wasn't there earlier.

S4 and M3 are my favorites.
The S4 suits me way better than the S5... so I guess the S5 goes last for me as all other are more appealing to me in some way :)
