Hi there my fellow forumers.
I thought I'm gonna go really off topic when it comes to German cars this time.
You see, about a month ago, my mom and dad told me that they wanted to buy a new car, and wanted my help with that. They told me that either it's gonna be a 3-4 year old one, or if the price is good, they could think of a new one. I said I would be glad to help them.
It was going to be a car mostly for my mother to drive. But my father would use it to from time to time.
Of course, any Audi or German car fell away. Audi were of course to expencive and so was of course BMW and Mercedes. Even VW were to expencive for their needs. They didnt like Opel, they didnt like Skoda etc etc.
I suggested cars like Nissan Qashqai, which is an amazing car for the what it costs. But my mother didnt like the looks of it. Weird I must say, since I think its a very attractive car. I also suggested cars like Mistubishi ASX, Skoda Yeti etc. Since I drive a Q5, I know how much better you feel sitting higher above the groud, in a little bigger car. I also thought of a Hyundai ix35 but my biggest interest fell on a car that I really like the looks of, and the price was also good: the Kia Sportage.
So, we went to a local KIA dealer and saw some cars, my parents really loved the Sportage. But there was one problem. They needed a car really fast. Like in 2 weeks. And they needed a petrol version, not a diesel version. And in whole country, the waiting time for a petrol Sportage was at least 3 months. So, unfortunately, it feel away.
Disapointed as we were, on the way out of the showroom, my parents stopped next to a car, that I never heard a name of before; the Kia Venga. It looked quite nice. It was standing next to the brand new C'eed. It was taller, had a lot of back seat space. It had nice interior, exterior. And that price!! Im telling you, in 15 minutes my parents didnt want any other car. And of course, my father was already bought when he heard the 7 YEARS warranty.
They wanted to buy that car directly, but I asked the dealer if we could choose own color and equipment, how long it would take to get a new car shipped. So he said 2 weeks. And that was it!
I helped them to choose colour and equipment. It was already pretty well equipped standard with ESP, ABS, board computer, manual AC, and all those stuff you really need. I added the ACC of course, and rear sensors, look package with alloy wheels, front fog lights, different bumper, safety package, tinted windows, extra speakers, rain sensors etc. It was really still all in a great price.
I really wanted and tried to talk my parents into a panorama roof and GPS screen with rear view camera and all that. But that was actually expencive so they didnt go for it. I regret it a little now, cause I could just say I would pay for those parts. The freedom of panoramic roof is priceless. I know that from my Q5.
As for the engine, we went for the strongest 1.6 liter with 126hp. It does 0-100km/h in 10 seconds and it is more than enough for that car. Funny that it's called small MPV. It really is bigger then it looks.
So, 2 weeks later, we picked it up. Here are some pics. My parents really love the car! And I have to say I like it pretty much too. It's cute and well designed and has good interior and equipment.

And to compare the size of the car, here it is next to the SUV Toyota RAV4:
