Black Beauty is here

No reinforcing as such all that ties the other skin to under skin is metal ties, ther's actually three layers to the front section and one of the back sections which have the stone finish and these walls are ending up 550mm thick.

So, if I am understanding this correctly, there's an outer layer or skin made of these concrete blocks, then empty space and then another skin of concrete blocks. The two skins are tied together with metal ties, or are the metal ties used to keep the concrete blocks together, and there's nothing holding the two skins together?

Only the metal ties hold it together and the cavity is then filled with insulation but just as a box isn't completely solid until the lid is closed the same is true for a house as it takes to fitting of the roof to make everything rock solid though trust me even now they'll take some amount of hammering before they will give way.

Αha. So no filling with unreinforced concrete or any similar cementitious material. I guess there's no need for such a stiff structure in your area.

Yeap, I know. ;)

Should be a great view when it's all finish.

Bought a new toy/worker for the building site as I reckon I buy one rather than hiring and sell for roughly the same price I paid when finished. Anyway here a short vid of one of the kids getting to grips with it.
