According to Bild Schumacher is going to end his retirement and is negotiating driving for Mercedes GP. CRAAAAAAAP, what to do what do to: alonso with Ferrari,I hate that dude. Now Schumacher is with Mercedes and I'm sitting here with my original Ferrari F1 polo bought when Schumi became world champion :D

The rumours are strenghing but this is just BILD which is utter crap, hope this time it will turn out true, oh man, it would be amazing to see GOD again.

I don't know if they are just quoting Bild but

Hahaha... how's his neck or back.. or whatever it was that stopped his dream comeback with Ferrari this year ?

Man, these German F1 teams just love to be patriotic... doesn't matter if the driver has passed his hay-day, or isn't even the best option out there, if he's German, he's who they want. No if's or but's. Crazy stuff!

Is he getting to Mercedes GP for Mercedes-Benz / Germany or Ross Brawn?? I think it's the later as they both shared a brilliant chemistry and can do it again, This time though thank god it will be the 3 pointed star.

Can't wait for the official announcement if it's true!

They should give Nick Heidfeld a go.

Still, I'm doubtful that Schumi would turn his back to his deep relationship with Ferrari for a risky year with Mercedes.

Mercedes did give Schumacher his first opportunity to go racing in the German F3 series, DTM, the Sauber-Mercedes sportscar team, and then buying him a seat at Jordan.

I think it is just a matter of Schumacher returning a favour to Mercedes Benz to whom he is indebted to. Schumacher did not join Sauber F1 because his contract was with Mercedes Benz and not Sauber. The lawyer of Schumacher and Willi Weber successfully argued that Schumacher was only obliged to join Mercedes Benz if it entered F1, not Sauber (even though Sauber was funded by Mercedes Benz at the time).

The rest as they said, is history...........................

I don't like Schumacher, but I respect him, and I hope he would bring immediate success to Mercedes Benz GP.

It's not returning the favour, it's simply that they can offer him what ferrari cannot, a competitive race seat, hence why ldm pushed for the 3rd car idea.

The plot thickens...

Motor racing-Petronas to sponsor Mercedes F1 team

Mon Dec 21, 2009 10:13am GMT

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Malaysian state oil and gas company Petronas [PETR.UL] will be title sponsor of the Mercedes Formula One team next season, Mercedes announced on Monday.

The team, formerly champions Brawn GP, will become Mercedes GP Petronas with the oil company's branding across the car and team liveries in what they said was a long-term agreement.

"The new title partnership also paves the way for future collaborations between the two companies," Mercedes added in a statement.

It said Petronas would be able to "generate sustainable business growth, particularly in their downstream lubricants market, through the strategic partnership and business alliance with Mercedes-Benz."

Mercedes said their 2010 car would be presented in its new livery for the first test of the new season at the Valencia circuit in Spain on Feb. 1.

Petronas, who previously sponsored the BMW-Sauber team, will continue to be the title backer of the Malaysian Grand Prix -- the third round of the season at Sepang on April 4.

"Petronas's home base in Kuala Lumpur is located in the middle of a fast-growing region for the automotive industry which makes this new partnership even more valuable," said Mercedes motorsport vice-president Norbert Haug.

The deal with Mercedes will be a blow to both Swiss-based Sauber, in urgent need of sponsors after the withdrawal of BMW at the end of the season, as well as the new Malaysian-backed Lotus team.

Lotus F1 boss Tony Fernandes, who also runs AirAsia (AIRA.KL), had hoped to bring Petronas on board given that his team have government support and his airline is a major purchaser of aviation fuel.

The Lotus car company is also owned by Malaysian state car company Proton (PROT.KL).

Mercedes have signed Germany's Nico Rosberg as one driver and are widely expected to have seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher as the other if he makes a comeback at the age of 41.
