7 Series (G70) [Rumors] BMW (G70) 7-Series Facelift (Spy pics & info)

The BMW G70 is the seventh generation of the BMW 7 Series. Model codes: G70 (short-wheelbase), G71 (long-wheelbase), and G73 (high-security). It has an electric variant, the BMW i7, along with Inline 6 740i and V8 760i models. Predecessor: BMW G11. Production: July 2022-
Interesting! Quite similar to the popular HRE FF10s.

Yes, very cool design. I’ve never seen them on the 7er though, I guess people don’t prefer them. Perhaps 22’s are too uncomfortable for our roads, lol.

That's true. The 5er, being almost as long as a 7er from only two generations ago (F01), ended up being pretty long too. It's the way it is.
The 5er is now too long at 5.06m, especially as the design looks so bulky. If it were as elegant as the F01 then the size wouldnt be such a stand out. Lets hope the facelift will change things for the better for both 5er and 7er. Both cars have fugly front designs that need a total change, which it looks the LCI will address.

Only a vertical grille is elegant. Like the ones on Maybachs and Rolls-Royces. The switch to a horizontal grille in the LCI is a step backward. The front of the car no longer looks like a Rolls-Royce, but like an ordinary BMW.

Mercedes and BMW are knocking it out the park with their wheel designs. I've never seen so many compelling wheel choices at one time from either brand until recently.

Still hung up on how hung the 7er is huh?

Stiff crowd.

I just hope the facelift comes together with a happy ending *awaits @martinbo's superior pun*

The front of the car no longer looks like a Rolls-Royce, but like an ordinary BMW.

That must be why it looks so much better now....
Seriously though, I do think these horizontal slats are long overdue. And even though I am well aware it's "un-BMW", it just looks a lot better by giving the impression of width instead of height, which is IMO what this front needed. It's high enough as is, no need to accentuate that.

Rolls Royce with a non Pantheon horizontal grille.

It doesn't matter if the grill slats are vertical or horizontal as it can't hide its fugly face. The DRL slits and the separate lights in the bumper together with the extreme bonnet height have made the G70 a very ungainly looking car in real life. It spoils what is otherwise a classically good looking BMW from the A-pillar backwards.
