Technology?I have serious reservations any sort of nip and tuck can save this vulgar beast. It's proportionally abnormal.
But it's been good to see BMW give Mercedes a kick in the ass in terms on quality and tech.

Exactly. Generally speaking, the 7 is the most overrated car in long a time.Technology?

I was about to say. Also calling 7er the most overrated car in recent history is kinda ridiculous. I would say it’s perfectly rated.Anything else? Or is this just the regular MB fanboy group jerk? Sure looks like it.
MB fanboys coming together in the 7er thread to whine. How cute. How predictable.
Proportions are typical 101 sedan. You're likely confusing proportions with size, unless you can tell me what's wrong with the proportions of the 7er. And the size isn't even the issue, it's the S class which is too small in this age of gigantic 2500 kg crossovers.
Having a problem with the proportions of the 5er I can live with. But the same simply cannot be said about the 7er despite some challenging design elements.
I mean design is super subjective, but yes, it’s the “ugliest” one to so many people. I would say it’s the most polarizing and risk-taking model since the E65, and looks one segment above than its predecessor. I think it also sold more compared to the G11, at least here in my country.I am sure I am not the only one believing the G70 is by far the ugliest 7er ever. Proportions might be classic sedan, but overhangs are terrible and the overall car looks so unrefined.
Heck, the G60 5er is far from perfect, but with the M Pack I can 100% say that I like it. But the 7er? Would trade that car for a large SUV every day of the week,

When you have to explain it, you’ve lost the plot. Striking and distinctive, but I didn’t see pretty or good looking. It’s an end run.The 7 Series didn't choose to play it safe. In terms of design, it opted for a completely different look from its predecessors. While its design is polarizing, no one can deny its striking appearance.
The S Class, on the other hand, has a much more boring design. When you put the two models side-by-side, I can easily say that the 7 Series looks far more striking and distinctive. The 7 Series, especially the E65/66 and G70, were unconventional vehicles in terms of design. But we can never say that these two models are boring. The S Class, however, has consistently had rather boring designs in recent years.
Technology?
The interior has way nicer materials than the S Class tooA few minor advantages for the 7:
1. Active suspension available on all high end variants.
2. Entertainment screen. Say what you want, its a talking point for certain buyers.
3. Highway driving assistance superior to the pre FL W223.
And as tasteless as I find it, the 7 also has some clear quality advantages.
