5 Series [Rumors] Any word on details of 2020 5er LCI?

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured and marketed by BMW since 1972. The car is sold as either a sedan or, since 1991, a station wagon (marketed as "Touring"). A 5-door fastback (marketed as "Gran Turismo") was sold between 2009 and 2017. Each successive generation has been given an internal G-code designation since 2017. Previously, a F-code designation was used between 2010 and 2016, while an E-code designation was used between 1972 and 2010. These are used to distinguish each model and generation from each other.

Well, we'll get a closer look IRL.

To my mind the DRLs i...

The fine detail is for me part of what makes it look a bit dated. And while I agree cost saving is part of an LCI, I wouldn't think they'd cut corners for the eye catching parts. The official pics will show more detail, and then we'll compare the new with the old :D

Edit:

It's actually just the shape that makes it look dated, because after some investigation I see that this LED tech is the same on every BMW from 1er to 8er.

The 5 LCI DRL’s take inspiration from the 7 and these don’t look cheap to me. Maybe a bit more flattish upfront but if you look at an angle you’ll see that they still have depth. In addition, lighting technology is moving fast which reduces the need to have these larger units, even upfront.

For reference, 7er LCI and 8er. It's really quite 3D on the latest 'G' models. 5er will feature the exact same tech with a different shape:

Why is there such an obvious change in the tone/shade of blue between and front and rear doors? Seems to abrupt of a change to simply be lighting effects. (Also the lighting along the rocker panel is consistent, so it's not that).

I kinda see the difference in color as well. The car could be a prototype, so the finish is s bit rough for whatever reason

I do not understand why taking photos of a camouflage like this, they have an excess of advertising budget, they will be bored, I do not see any sense

This was all completed before any leaks and before Covid-19 lockdown was initiated. Same goes for THE 4,M5 and iX3.
Everything is scheduled and as you might have noticed that leaks don’t disrupt the launch cycle.
They will be in pre-prep for THE 4 Cabrio and M3 and M4 for the third/4th quarter. Still awaiting a confirmation that BMW will be @ Auto China in September. Is Goodwood cancelled this year?

It's the same as your significant other dressing down to have on only some lingerie for you. You have a good idea of what's underneath it all, but the tease entices your imagination and builds your anticipation of what's to come.

Hmmm.. I think I need to have a bit of what @klier had the other night. :eusa_shif

Looks like a great update imo. The grille seems to work and the lights and very nice. I like the 'double eyebrow', they make the lights look more like the quad eyes we all like. Maybe the 5er will have that too?
