5 Series [Rumors] Any word on details of 2020 5er LCI?

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured and marketed by BMW since 1972. The car is sold as either a sedan or, since 1991, a station wagon (marketed as "Touring"). A 5-door fastback (marketed as "Gran Turismo") was sold between 2009 and 2017. Each successive generation has been given an internal G-code designation since 2017. Previously, a F-code designation was used between 2010 and 2016, while an E-code designation was used between 1972 and 2010. These are used to distinguish each model and generation from each other.

Personally I think the G20 and even G11 are better looking than the G30. Maybe once its given the FL it will be an improvement, as witnessed in the leaked pics, but I would still choose the other 2 for looks. Interior wise it still looks outstanding inside and gives the 7 series a close run.

I am seriously contemplating an E87 130i manual with M pack, 3 door, non iDrive.

Just after test driving this car here:

Amazing car, just not a ‘real’ BMW. I’ll post some impressions later, together with my thoughts on a test drive of the G20 320i.

Shhh, don't ruin his story.
He posts a pic of what in essence...

Nope, you`ve taken my post out of context. I never implied BMW should copy anything at all.
My impressions were that the taillights in that pic have fewer dead zones than the teaser photo of the f/l 5er. I think it is fair to hold back final judgments until the official photos come along. It shouldn`t be too long.

If by dead zones you mean the blackish-smoky that surrounds the red stripes of light, I think they are a very creative touch that stylizes and updates the design in addition to being quite original.

^Well thats one way of looking at it.
As I told @klier, need to see more photos when the car is officially released.
I always thought the taillights (and headlights) of the 5er were too big to begin with. Maby the solution you explained will help. Thay did a good job trimming headlights down, looks sleeker and better than before.

Looks like the G30 LCI will be the first BMW to get Android Auto as standard and its good to see red return to the 5 series, although it’s not red red.

Colors

- Phytonic Blue Metallic

- Bernina Grey Amber Effect

- Aventurin Red Metallic

Options

- Standard Android Auto!

- Optional Red M Sport Brakes

For those unaware, all BMW'S with iDrive 7 will receive Android Auto as a Software update.

Bright red colours rarely suits big cars - especially big bloated ones. It's also a colour that can be a pain to photograph. The i

Deep shades with burgundy or cherry generally work.

An Imola red E39 M5 is a great example of when red works on a sedan thanks to black plastic scuff protection breaking up the colour.
