Phantom Rolls-Royce Phantom Facelift

Rolls-Royce has used the Phantom name on full-sized luxury cars and limousines since 1925, making it the longest used car model nameplate in automotive history. In the 20th century, the Rolls-Royce Phantom was a very low volume, hand-built limousine, which in its first four generations was custom coachbuilt to the customer's requests, and sometimes extravagant desires. Whilst automobile manufacturing over time became more mechanised and prolific, and vehicles from other manufacturers could be built in greater numbers and at lower prices, the Phantoms remained hand-built, and production of individual cars only began once the order was placed. The use of the name "Phantom" is a long tradition of naming Rolls-Royce models after ghosts or spirits.
One of the most socially reproachable and revolting things I've ever seen. An anchor motif decal and powder blue two tone? On a Roller? To spend so much money on something so tasteless... we live in a vain and fickle society.

It was designed in conjunction with a customers yacht.
Rolls-Royce Bespoke have, for many customers created cars that not only match their yachts but also their Gulfstream jets.
Bespoke is huge for Rolls-Royce, nearly every car that leaves Goodwood has bespoke features. Its very rare to find just a standard but as it is Rolls-Royce.

Well I wouldn't publicize a bespoke request from Donald Trump or 50 Cent. Protect your brand integrity. It took 100 years to build.

The watch storage idea is something that was initially a request by one our customers. They had a Vault yes literally a vault with their watch collection comprised of many exclusive and current and vintage time pieces and asked for something to be developed for storage in their Phantom.

Its another example of showing the possibilities of bespoke so that the cars are properly catered to each owner therefore to make them more personal and one of a kind. Something that will never happen with the Maybach.

We saw something similar with Phantom Serenity which in terms of bespoke additional features is the most expensive Phantom ever since the car was introduced.
The bespoke idea will also be a feature of the new 7er in which we will see full BMW individual possibilities in a concept at the IAA.

Rolls Royce used to be old money, now it's new money. Maybach sub-brand will become old money. Much like Volvo drivers have the highest disposable income and net worth in the premium category of buyers.

I like it. Maybe because I like Nautica products?
Certainly better than that Serenity edition.

The bottom chap bought 30 bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB models at just under 1 million a piece.
Yes we know, and I am also sure that the they all belong to his company/hotel group, but anyway with all that $$$ I am sure he can find a better personal style adviser.

The "Deborah Pink" RR Phantom EWB (featuring a Spirit of Ecstasy embedded with hundreds of real diamonds!!!) belongs to Stephen Hung's (the Hong-Kong / Macau taycoon who bought 30 lavish red Phantoms for his Super-luxury Macau Casiono resort "Louis XIII") wife Deborah Valdez-Hung (it was a 2014 Valentin's gift to her from him).

To each their own. The only thing that looks respectable to me is the custom 599, but not having seen the rear there might be some atrocity committed in the name of "style."

Here you go, the 599 is actually pretty well done, the carbon fiber trim matches up and it was nicely polished.

What happened to dignified, tasteful rich people?
Those dignified tasteful rich people are content to remain in the background and enjoy their wonderful lives without causing offence to humanity, so that is why we never notice them or hear anything about them.

Except for the spoiler, it's pretty good. I'd prefer a more integrated, duck-tail spoiler. I wonder if this is part of Ferrari's one-off personalization program like that F12 owned by that Wegman's grocers owner or Eric Clapton's 430.

As far as the nautical-themed Phantom goes, I don't think the exterior theme is that bad, but it's not great either. At least I am not annoyed or disgusted like I was with those garish red RR's that Hung ordered for his hotels. I actually like the nautical-themed interior's woodwork, especially how the dark-stain inlays contrast with the lighter stain wood. I am glad at least it does not have piano lacquer, I grew bored with that trend long ago. I would much prefer to see the actual grain in wood, it gives the eyes something to admire.

While the nautically bespoke RR was comissioned by an owner, how many more "special edition" Phantoms will we see before the successor comes out?

I know hood / roof / trunk is silver painted and not white. But when I saw this pic....

...this was the first what came in my mind. I don't know why.

Oh this 599 isn't, it is done by Masonary, and it is called the Stallone
