Phantom Rolls-Royce Phantom Facelift

Rolls-Royce has used the Phantom name on full-sized luxury cars and limousines since 1925, making it the longest used car model nameplate in automotive history. In the 20th century, the Rolls-Royce Phantom was a very low volume, hand-built limousine, which in its first four generations was custom coachbuilt to the customer's requests, and sometimes extravagant desires. Whilst automobile manufacturing over time became more mechanised and prolific, and vehicles from other manufacturers could be built in greater numbers and at lower prices, the Phantoms remained hand-built, and production of individual cars only began once the order was placed. The use of the name "Phantom" is a long tradition of naming Rolls-Royce models after ghosts or spirits.
The add-ons are nothing but additional storage compartment that you can use for whatever you wish. I don't know about you, but I would prefer using them for snack storage rather than wasting them on storing watches and jewellery.

Kidding aside, you will equally as many, if not more storage compartments in any Chrysler Voyager or Honda Odyssey.

Oh yes I did :D I recently caught up with a friend who owns a Tesla Model S and a Honda Odessey. She totally loves the Tesla which ticks the boxes of what many people think of a luxury: leather trim all over the interior, high tech, great design.

However she loves the Odyssey since the luxury it offers is space e.g there are compartment for storing absolutely anything you can think off, and this special edition of the Phantom is showcasing everyday practicality as a luxury.

Next thing you'll be saying is the interior volume of the Odyssey is superior to the Phantom. :D

"everyday practicality" are not words that come to mind for me. :D

This shameless extravagence is a very bold example of how clever BMW has been with its reinvention of Rolls-Royce. BMW has identified its market well. Of course it's ridiculous to have places to display valuable watches and jewellery in an automobile. In many ways, this is a characacature of "Rolls-Royce luxury" ......the foundations of the Rolls-Royce marque have almost entirely given way to a fantastic illusion of ultra-indulgence.

[sigh] How the world has changed, today's Phantom is about as aristocratic as a diamond-encrusted iPhone .....as I said, BMW has identified its market well.

I lobby for the following to be added to the forum rules:

Effective [insert date], no longer can a member even think to compare the Mercedes Maybach S-class with Rolls Royce. Any instance, inference or possible intention to do so will result in an instant lifetime ban.

:t-hihi:

Yeah, Maybach S is more modern and more beautiful.

And then there is taste..... Money can't buy it obviously.

Yup, that much is clear when you keep on going non stop about how much better the Mulsanne is over a RR.
Severe lack of taste indeed.

I LOVE THE IDEA :D :D

Kidding aside? With such a statement? LOL

The watch storage idea is something that was initially a request by one our customers. They had a Vault yes literally a vault with their watch collection comprised of many exclusive and current and vintage time pieces and asked for something to be developed for storage in their Phantom.

Its another example of showing the possibilities of bespoke so that the cars are properly catered to each owner therefore to make them more personal and one of a kind. Something that will never happen with the Maybach.

We saw something similar with Phantom Serenity which in terms of bespoke additional features is the most expensive Phantom ever since the car was introduced.
The bespoke idea will also be a feature of the new 7er in which we will see full BMW individual possibilities in a concept at the IAA.

Like I really care what the village idiot thinks.

I realise I'm in the minority on this forum but I think the Japanese theme in the Phantom Serenity is very tastefully done.

Lol, well that is probably true.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Nautica

Features Arabian Blue coachline
Rolls-Royce has prepared another one-off Phantom and this time they were inspired by a classic yacht.

It's known as the Phantom Nautica and has received a two-tone exterior paint scheme with an Orchid White hue combined with an Arabian Blue finish for the upper half of the car and also the coachline which features an anchor motif.

The nautical theme is carried over inside the luxurious cabin where there's a Tudor Oak veneer along with Boxwood inlays while on the passenger panel resides another anchor motif inlayed in the marquetry. The seats have been wrapped around in Forest Fall leather with Navy Blue piping complemented by Tudor Oak door capping.

The icing on the cake is a compass specifically designed for this one-off Phantom and it sits in the drawer on the central dashboard.

It was designed in conjunction with a customers yacht.
Rolls-Royce Bespoke have, for many customers created cars that not only match their yachts but also their Gulfstream jets.
Bespoke is huge for Rolls-Royce, nearly every car that leaves Goodwood has bespoke features. Its very rare to find just a standard but as it is Rolls-Royce.

The workmanship inside it is amazing... It's not really all to my taste(i'd have other wood), but it hasn't been made for me.

I'd love to sit in it. The back is like a lounge room.
