Ghost Rolls-Royce Ghost

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.
If I got that car, I would put some huge rims on it.

No less then 22inch

I know every one has different tastes and all that shit, but for this forum's sake I really hope you are kidding, or else you should seriously consider go joining some blingcarzone.com or something.

I love how disrespectful you can be. Reminds me of well me back in the day.

Anyway...Like I said, I would put rims on it. Don't care for the BMW rims on the regular model. Of course they wouldn't look exactly like those, but they would be Chrome and at least 22inchs.

It's Ghost, not a Phantom so it will need something to stand out.

Latest Spyshots of the Rolls-Royce Ghost. An exclusive invitation only Preview takes place in Cannes this Thursday and Friday.
We can use either disguised cars for Ring testing or indeed minimal disguised prototypes. Cars are not launched and sold at the same time. The period from launch gives us time to perfect and iron out any problems that arise in the final FEP cars. You will still find disguised 5er GT's with body cladding in Munich today even though the car has been launched. But we have until November to make sure everything is perfect for the customer.

A final Workout. This car means business.

The times they are a changin'...

I read in one of the last issues of Swedish AMS that they were given a stern rebuke from BMW Sweden when they took the Phantom to a track and "used it in a un-Rolls-Royce manner..."

:t-drive:

Same here Klier....I have one on my wishlist as well:)

Man this car appeals to me...well I just loved RR's since I was a little boy, the Shadow, Corniche and Spirit...The Phantom is a masterpiece - worlds best car - FACT!

I must be honest, one can see the F01 somewhere in there :D

570 hp, 780 Nm :t-hair:

That's more than 760i....some here said it would have less power than the BMW, but this is more than I expected.

RR PR said 'more than 507 hp' if I remember correctly. This is more than that alright!!! Pretty sweet.

Probably a repost:

Rolls-Royce Ghost prices and performance announced | Automotive & Motoring News | Car Magazine Online

carmagazine said:
Rolls-Royce today confirms the full spec of the new ‘baby Rolls’, the Ghost. Although the final production car hasn’t yet been revealed, the prices, performance and other tech figures have now been made public.

The Ghost, which is being shown at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show for the first time (the first four pictures are of the 200EX concept car, only the fifth, teaser photo is of the real production car), will be powered by a 563bhp 6.6-litre turbocharged V12. With a blistering 575lb ft on tap at just 1500rpm, the new Rolls-Royce will whoosh to 60mph in 4.7 seconds and is limited to 155mph.

The gearbox is ZF’s new eight-speed auto, while front and rear axles are suspended on air; all four corners feature aluminium multi-link suspension, today's spec confirms.
How much will the new Rolls-Royce Ghost cost?

There’s very little ‘baby-like’ about the price of the new Ghost. Rolls today confirms that it will cost £165,000 'plus taxes and delivery charges'. So we’re talking a good £190,000 in the UK, minimum. First deliveries in Europe kick off in late 2009, slipping into spring 2010 for the US and Asia.
So how big exactly is the new Ghost?

The precise measurements of the Rolls-Royce Ghost (2009) have been published today – allowing us to position in relation to big brother the Phantom. It’s a four-door, five-seater:

• Length: 5399mm
• Width 1948mm
• Height: 1550mm
• Wheelbase: 3295mm

More explanation from Rolls-Royce engineering director Helmut Riedl. He said: ‘First and foremost Ghost is a Rolls-Royce. This means that despite its extraordinary performance figures it has been engineered for effortless composure and refined power delivery. This is illustrated by the significant levels of low down torque available which makes pulling away very smooth and for an exceptionally relaxed driving experience.

‘Rolls-Royce power is entirely different to anything else in the automotive world. It is delivered free from stress and exertion but at the same time must engage the driver. Ghost is about fingertip control while still enjoying a dynamic connection with the road. Equally passengers need to be cosseted from the physical sensations of acceleration, braking and cornering. Our chassis set up keeps Ghost stable and flat, preventing it from wallowing or pitching in the corners or imposing undesirable forces on those inside.’
How is Rolls-Royce doing in the recession?

Not too badly. Official figures show Rolls sold 1212 cars around the world in 2008 – up 20% over the previous year, and the fifth consecutive year of growth since the Phantom was first launched in 2003.

Yes, the Rolls-Royce should be more powerful than any BMW. Problem is they need to update the Phantom as well. I hope they don't apply that BMW logic to Rolls-Royce, where a "lower-model" is more powerful then the Flagship model (Like 7 series to M5*which is expected with the next generation 5 series).

Either way the Ghost looks good...Then again Bentley will probably have a new Flying Spur real soon.

You see their logic makes sense. The 7 caters to a different market than the M5. Thats not to say the 7 is slow.

And the power difference is not just a marketing thing or even an ECU trick. The engine is actually bigger 6.6l in Ghost vs 6l in 760.
