Ghost Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.
Subtle but neat. What a posh car! Man when I grow up...

i think this generation of say Phantom and Ghost are still going the traditional way using old-school styled interior designs but i do hope that in the next full re-design, or other upcoming models, they will find some much more modern way to interpret the tradition.

I think you'll find the people who actually buy cars like this don't want a tacky interior like you'll find on the W222 S class, they LED screen dash ruins what could have been a splendid interior.

I think they should stick with old school style, interiors of RR's now is kind of messed up, cause they implemented alot of new technology in the interior who maybe wasnt designed to. So in new models they should just clean it up and hide alot of features, buttons and stuff, keep it simple and clean

The Ghost is our template for the next 7er especially in how standard and long wheelbase are positioned.
The long wheelbase receives extra chrome detailing in some specifications.

Then if we get to the 9er which is currently making friends on its tour to justify its future existence , BMW realise that they need that car but they need customer approval and acceptance for BMW in this exclusive segment.
But they know it is a car that can allow BMW to step above the S-Klasse and its forthcoming extended variants offering exclusivity and individuality in abundance but still be a pure BMW.

It's interesting not only to see the final advertisement but to get a little insight how the production works.

I think a 9 series is doomed from the start, why would anyone buy one? If the 7 is supposed to match the S, why try to go above the S, when you have two models from RR which already do?

Why do VW have Phaeton and A8? Well maybe that only proves your point actually since Phaeton wasnt successful

Phaeton is successful in China. I don't think the BMW brand can extend beyond the 7 series, it just doesn't make sense to me. Although I do see aplace for a 7 series coupe, which could be an 8 series to take on the S class coupe.

The interesting thing learned about the Vision Future Luxury on its global feedback is that there are luxury owners that would like a super exclusive BMW and feel the brand can be supported.
The order would be 7er -9er-Ghost-Phantom.
It also allows an opening as RR do not want to downsize like Bentley are planning to do.
A decision will be made at the beginning of 2015 but one of the key driving forces is that Mercedes are offering an extended S-Klasse whilst BMW are keen on bespoke for both BMW and Rolls-Royce so a 7er driver can distinguish the 9er , Ghost and Phantom unlike an S400 against a Maybach-S.

In the meantime...
