Ghost Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.
The interesting thing learned about the Vision Future Luxury on its global feedback is that there are luxury owners that would like a super exclusive BMW and feel the brand can be supported.
The order would be 7er -9er-Ghost-Phantom.
It also allows an opening as RR do not want to downsize like Bentley are planning to do.
A decision will be made at the beginning of 2015 but one of the key driving forces is that Mercedes are offering an extended S-Klasse whilst BMW are keen on bespoke for both BMW and Rolls-Royce so a 7er driver can distinguish the 9er , Ghost and Phantom unlike an S400 against a Maybach-S.

In the meantime...

Yeah, I think there is room in the high-end segment for a BMW that sits above the executive-class 7. The world's a big place and this segment has got a lot of new potential buyers ......not everybody wants to make such a loud statement (with a Rolls Royce).

I think if BMW are smart they will seize the opportunity that Maybach missed and offer a vehicle that really defines the vanguard of high-end automotive style and culture of this time.

The Vision Future Luxury Concept is very promissing ......its interior design is much more definitive of the spirit of our times than the slightly 'stodgy' quilted and buttoned leather upholstery of the Mercedes Maybach.

A very enthusiastic review from a likeable young man named Sky.

This is a really nice example of the Ghost.

I don't want to be cynical but wouldn't a financial donation to the charity, equal to the value of this car, be more useful?

Car is donated at its RRP (recommended retail price), not at its ex-factory cost; plus the PR (public relations) value generated in the press by this auction, and the likelihood of enthusiastic bidding by prospective buyers, make it a much better option.

Yes, all that is rational ........but why PURPLE!!

Its the fact that you have the cost of the car and its specialised equipment but with the bidding it can go to around twice or three amounts of the car.
Remember the Pebble Beach i8 went for a lot of money as did recently a 30 Jahre M5 edition. So in the end a charity receives more than just the cost of the car, a lot more.

Hi, anyone knows anything about the possibility to see one Ghost powered by one diesel engine? I've some shots from two mules very rare from Ghost.

Rolls-Royce issues smallest recall ever, affects just one car

Luxury marque Rolls-Royce has disclosed plans to recall a single unit of the Ghost in United States to fix an airbag issue.

BMW-owned Rolls-Royce made only 4,063 cars last year and that was actually a 12% increase over 2013, so whenever there is news of a recall, do not expect any big numbers. That being said, RR is now quite possibly the record holder for the smallest recall ever as they have announced just one unit will be recalled, a 2015 model year Ghost manufactured on January 23, 2014.

It has some potential problems with the thorax airbags for the front seats which might not meet provide the expected level of protection in the unfortunate event of a side impact, so there is an increased risk of injuries for both the driver and the front passenger. As a consequence, the 2015 Ghost could fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 214 concerning the "Side Impact Protection."

To solve this potential hazard, a Rolls-Royce dealer in United States will soon replace both the driver- and front passenger-side thorax airbag modules. The 2015 Ghost Series II US-spec owner has already been informed about this issue and obviously he won’t have to pay anything to get the problematic airbags replaced.

That side airbag going off is like Mike Tyson giving a big punch in your ribs:ROFLMAO:

I don't know what it is, but I have a soft spot for plaid/tartan interior elements... for example, I wouldn't go out of my way in getting a GTI (not because it's a bad car or anything like that), but I would be very tempted if I was offered one with plaid seats.
