Lol this new one looks even more like a brothel with its ambient lighting.

Gone are the days when the lighting inside the car was only a measly overhead front incandescent light strip.

Imagine walking out of a restaurant after a candlelight dinner or a symphony hall after a late-night sonnet—and stepping into the strip joint aesthetic of the Mercedes luxury lineup. Count me out; I'm too old for this visual mess. One cannot call a design theme "simplified" or "minimal" when, at any time, multiple neon lines and three giant screens with dizzying special effects assault and occupy the visual plain. I thought the S-class interior was already a step too far in the wrong direction—and quite tacky if not clad in all-black/dark leather/wood options. But at least the S-class interior is well-sculpted and laid out. The new E interior is just an ensemble of gimmicks hiding a lack of imagination and ergonomic sophistication.

MB pursuit to kill Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will fail for the following reason:

Developers don't want to build and maintain apps for platforms outside of iOS and Android. Some don't even bother developing for Android or Amazon Fire tablet. Total addressable market for an app on a Merc will be even smaller.

How many developers want to spend $80k on a base eclass and the same for one with hyper screen just to test whether their latest update work as it should?

yeah-right.webp

Brilliant location for the warning lights. Nice and visible at the edges of the instrument cluster. The steering wheel lifts any Merc interior. One of the best designs ever.
Another good thing about the new instrument display, the bevel edges are alot thinner than those of the S-class.

I like it a lot. Compared what is coming from its cempetitor it looks very futuristic.

Finally the airvents look cool with the hyperscreen and not like an afterthought in their EQ blobs.

Still I think it lacks the luxury feeling from its predecessor as was already mentioned here.

Frankly I'm very impressed with what i've seen so far. They could have done a variation on either the C class or S class dash, but actually the design and integration of the HVAC is really unique and looks special, dare I say more so than in the S Class.

Would need to see it in person, but again the material quality looks good, being both luxury and contemporary.

The most remarkable thing is that they have done it differently from what has already been seen, in this the dashboard design is more mature, more achieved

However it would make more sense more the C-Class and cars below to have TikTok integration and fun apps.

The next-gen CLA is the first car to come with MB.OS. There will be a full gaming suite included, so the "fun" will definitely be in full force starting from the cheapest model.

Fun for the passengers I guess, I can't figure out how it can be a contribution to the driver when these possibilities exist on the dashboard, when the battery charges it occurs to me, but I'm not very sure what the benefit is
