The BMW G20 is the seventh generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: G20 (sedan), G21 (wagon/touring), G28 BEV (i3), and G28 (long-wheelbase). Predecessor: F30 3 Series. Successor: G50 3 Series. Production: October 2018-2016.
It's in depth. So in the lead marketing they have everything from design, engineering, features, marketing even Nicky and Dennis the tech guru.:confused:But also an appearance from your fellow countryman Adrian Van Hooydunk.!;)

55 kg reduction is quite something for the 3er.

With the 5 and 7 series models been particularly light for their segments compared to rivals, I personally think BMW are at the forefront of light weight trimming at the moment and this is entirely possible that the new 3 series will be 55kg or even more lighter than the already lightest in class F30.

They aren’t even cutting corners to achieve this lower weight. Their build quality is getting better and better.

It’s a cool strategy to offer full tests before the car reveal. Has any industry ever done that? I also appreciate that there hasn’t been much teasing, but let’s not praise BMW yet, the car hasn’t been revealed.

BMW's Autocar budget over the last 6 months must be something :D:

  • Successful F90 group test in print and video followed by an all-out praising full road test
  • 2 drag races, although neither was a win for the M5
  • Long-term test car availed to the magazine at the same time as a 740Ld
  • And now what appears to be nothing but praise regarding the G20
Someone got paid big bucks..lol

Whoa...how COOL ! The lower left hand side of the Autocar cover shows an image of a featured M-B EQ-S scoop !

...oh...*ahem*...My apologies. That was uncalled for.

Back OT.

It would be great if the motoring journalists actually bring along the older model to compare to the new version and then they can really judge truthfully if the new version is better in all ways. I have never seen this from any motoring magazine, they only state its better and this is from memory, not really from driving the new and old version back to back.

Our review went a bit in detail since it wasn't a just one time drive, but rather several instances when the car was tested. But I agree, the final review is the one that matters

You can't bring cars to an event. What you can do is wait a few months till they enter the press fleet, then do an independent test. Those are the best since you get the car for a week, not just for a few laps or a few hours.
