Where Mercedes would really do the most damage to the competition is to implement MBUX on the C-Class facelift also, with the dual screens. That would be awesome and help it fight the new 3-Series coming.

I hope that your info is correct and mine is wrong!!
Besides of other sources, the guys from MB Blog reported a couple of weeks ago that the GLE will get the new UX:

The GLE better get MBUX. I would hope the days of MB shipping out cars with outdated Command Systems are over.

Everything new going forward should get it, C FL, GLE, GLS, etc. I know the AMG GT 4-door wont' get it because it is based E/CLS.

I don't think that's sound reasoning for why it wouldn't get MBUX. The development teams certainly knew MBUX was coming, there's no reason it has to be updated in tandem with those other cars.

I get what you're saying, but I know MB is not going to roll it out like that otherwise the CLS would have gotten it. It arrives on the market at the same time the A-Class does.

MB cannot integrate MBUX in CLS or AMG because they are based on E-class? That's lame!

And what base does G-class have so it was presented with old command?

No one said that that they couldn't. I just gave my take on why they didn't. Of course they could if they wanted too. Who knows outside of the HQ why they do it the way they do.

M

Can't imagine that at the very least on the facelift MBUX will be integrated in E and CLS. You can't have those models running another 4 and 7 years respectively with the current COMMAND.

The funny thing is that by the time the next S-Class comes along MBUX will be dated and will need to be replaced by something else. Hell by the time the CLS receives its facelift MBUX will be on version 2 or 3 or 4 lol.

They won't. MBUX doesn't require a whole new electrical architecture or anything.

@Merc1 thats like saying funny thing is that by next time new iphone/samsung arrives ios/android will be dated and will need to be replaced by something else*.
There will be updates on system, it is linux based. Even E class W213 has OTA update.

*I understand that new phones appear in one year

It is dated already. The video from A-class presentation shows that it is not as fast as AUDI's new multimedia.
